Sign up to Clif's Patreon site folks, its well worth it for the wealth of knowledge of banjo playing, banjo history and technical tips you'll get. I'm not associated or anything I just appreciate what the man is doing and I've learned shit loads. Thanks Clifton. Take care man.
I Love listening to you play, and seeing how you get one instrument to lay down the rythm and melody at the same time. I have to admit I am not good with string instruments. Curling my hand around the neck binds up my tendons, and I lose a lot of independent dexterity in my fingers. I do have a locking grip though. Which is good for the work I do. If I lay my hands out flat like on a piano or cup a squeeze box I'm fine.🤷♂️ But I will always love listening, understanding how it sounds so complex with what looks like one strum.
I love this tune! Such a straightforward rocker. I also found that once I listened a few times, tuned up the banjo and gave a whirl, I found myself playing John Brown’s Dream (not as much the A part but all the rest) which I’d never noticed is strikingly similar to Cackling Hen. I didn’t even know I knew it, just played what I remembered. Are they related, do you know? So good as always. Thanks Clifton!
Thanks heaps. I wanted one more in that tuning and now I got it. Been waiting for you to do a lesson on this for yonks. Can't afford no patreon. But if I did yours would be the first Clifton. Meanwhile its lucky for me I don't need tabs any more, I've already got ok at learning by watching and listening... from you. Thanks/sorry.
Awesome man, I’m going to work on this sometime to try out up picking for the first time. What sorts of tunes would you pair with this if you were going to put together a medley?

This video finally helped me figure out how to put these tunes together this traditional way. Fantastic.
They say you're supposed to be able to hear the chickens clucking and pecking while you listen to this, definitely hear them in your playing !
You’ve got that right hand! I’m so glad you’re soaking up all of that good stuff off of George!
I know there's a lot of amazing tunes but this has always been one of my favorites but it sounds great on both banjo and fiddle

May I ask what other song(s) you play in this tuning? It’s my first time using it and I really dig the sound
Thanks for the video, will be at it tonight!
Great sound. Very good video in terms of quality and content. You da man! Thanks.
Wonderful, thanks a lot!

I have a summer/fall home in Boone. Would you give me live lessons when I’m there? Love your style.
Good Stuff! Excellent.... I’m wondering are you familiar with a bluegrass band named Old & In the Way? Formed 1973
Yes, I've heard/heard of them.
🔥
I love banjo music.
Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross. He loves us so much. Have a great time.
