The dancer did it on purpose. It's called a "dead drop". The mask represent the Egyptian God Osíris and the hand piece it's the arrow he throws to kill the longing for someone. The lyrics it's a metaphore and not a music about cellphones as everyone thinks in first place , not all translations you find in the internet are good. Basically he broke his cell phone trying to call heaven, to kill the longing before he dies instead. Sorry, I wish I could have a better english, so you could really understand... Great video.
