It’s interesting to see Flowey realize that he’s TRULY out of options. In Undertale’s genocide route, he plays along with you, since you had the save and the power to kill him from the beginning. By the end of the game, he thinks he _may_ have won your favor, so he begs for mercy as a last resort. Of course, we saw how that turned out.
Here, though, mercy is off the table. Flowey’s watched you grow impatient with him throughout your run. Without control of the timeline, he can’t beat you, and he’s sure as hell not getting spared. So instead of begging, Flowey accepts that he’s about to die, and spits as much venom as he possibly can in his last moments, hoping to demoralize you and rip you apart.
God, this game’s writing is so good.

@@theunknown479 by the way in genocide route of original undertale it was actually revealed that Chara appears from start of genocide but he or she hates everything answer is simple he or she just don't care about it hurts or not and he or she hates flowey aka Asriel aswell so Chara basically main villian that we play frisk kinda don't exist after genocide ending you can't escape to pacifist route nah Chara is in control so he or she just kills everyone anyway in pacifist route that was after genocide route
Man, it's really cool seeing a fangame that doesn't heavily revolve around Sans or Papyrus.
It’s nice seeing a fan game that doesn’t rely on the main cast in general. It has its own neat cast of unique characters instead of just doing the old cast but they act or look different (Every other AU)

Something I just thought about is that if Frisk still falls down into the underground in this timeline, they're basically screwed. With Asgore dead and the souls taken beyond the barrier, monsters will have more hatred of humans than before and significantly less to lose. Toriel is most certainly getting French Revolution-ed when she tries to take the helm and impose her "no killing humans" rule, meaning super anti-human Undyne will sieze control. And without Toriel around, Sans has no reason to care about Frisk's life. Basically, Frisk's only hope is that they can get through the Ruins intact, and that Papyrus finds them first when entering Snowdin.

Also your premise is wrong because that implies that if a country declares war on another country, the second country is morally cool to murder every single person in the country that declared war on them, down to the last child.
I mean hell, most of the folks in the wild east don't even respect Asgore's choice to kill humans considering none of them rat Clover out so it's not like it's a belief all monsters share.

I mean he is pretty much right if I wasn't for the player. It's pretty clear that this route was canonicalynever meant to happen since Clover is only supposed to be a stepping stone for the "main story" and frisk. Not become the main character.

The ending of the battle is heartbreaking.. martlet crying out for help as she melts away into a puddle is devastating, really cool fight all together, I assume most people ( as well as me ) thought martlet would be the papyrus of the genocide run, trusting you, dying in one hit, etc. But making her actually have a fight AND being the final boss was extremely cool.
Yeah it was super sad to see. I really didn’t want to kill her. Although it feels hypocritical to feel that way because we’re the ones that did it to her. We can only blame ourselves for it. Truly heartbreaking.
Clover getting like 7 Levels from learning that Axis killed the Blue Soul is great. LoVE is about your willingness to hurt others so obviously after he learns that more monsters than just Asgore killed humans he gains enough determination to inflict pain on all of Monsterkind.

No it actually is very wrong. The will to kill in Undertale increases damage, not Lv. It's clearly stated by the book in snowdin and sans.
The book says that if someone wants to kill, their attacks will hit harder, sans says exp are obtained by killing and Lv increases after collecting several xp.
Increasing Lv just because he's angry is dumb because if anyone could potentially become this powerful by simply being pissed of, then it would be total chaos.
Undertale set some rules and this fan game broke them.

Many people don't understand it actually, clover has no chara in him , clover is still clover. The reason he may do genocide is because he wants to avenge the dead humans.

I mean, it's a form of brutal justice. Asgore does deserve what's coming to him for what he did to the five fallen children, and the only way to dispense that justice is to destroy everyone who stands in the way.

Clover is so strong he can shoot 8 bullets from a six notches revolver. He's just reloading it while shooting, which requires an advanced level of skill

The fight against Martlet was truly the most impacted moment I have seen so far in this game and definitely was also the most surprising similar to a skeleton with a grin who also had that same surprise. Still though this fight was absolutely gorgeous and blew me away that we actually get to use our yellow soul bullet attack to the max.
Martlet has brought me the most psychological pain a fangame of undertale ever did.

I mean, he found one I can give, despite those humans tragically being destined to die, no monster ever mentions their names. Ever. The kindest ones still remark them as "the humans" and ironically dehumanize them to feel better despite the tragic nature of that. Its hard to not see why justice is committing to taking so many lives when not one of the lives taken is remembered by those who were forced to take said lives.
I like to imagine this is what Justice was thinking, and the specific reason they don't mention it is because of how unfair it is for the one who is supposed to die by the others perspective to give them a reason to live.
Humans have countless tragedies and criminals that deserve justice, so many that a believer in good could never hope to count them all. In not even being able to remember five names, the monsters proved themselves to be worse than humans.

Another thing I realized, the only time you can have your character say sorry to someone on genocide route is Martlet, and this is upon introduction TO her, since your character isn't supposed to remember timelines, this implies that, within their brief interaction, something had to be done to make Clover care about her specifically.
And the only thing that makes her stand out exclusively, is the fact she actually asks your name.

Clover in this is like Joel from the last of us. He’s killed so many fireflies just to save Ellie. However we don’t really know if it was deserved because he killed a couple of innocents too like the doctor. Same with clover. He killed many due to his sense of justice to let the souls go free. It’s a weird moral dilemma.

These lines pretty much show just how much delusional Asgore is. Your people nearly got wiped out by just one small human child with a gun. Just what do you expect to do against the rest of humanity when you finally leave the underground?
I think Asgore is operating on emotions rather than logical thinking. Although I will say, if monsters manage to get just one human soul, then it’s GG for humans, because then that one soul absorbed monster will have god like power and kill even *more* humans effortlessly, absorbing their souls and then you just have a deadly chain reaction. Only reason that the village was able to take out Asriel is because he did not want to fight back. Having multiple monsters running around with souls absorbed, or having only one monster with 80+ human souls absorbed would spell the end for humans. All it takes is one human soul to start that chain reaction.

@foppypoof5195 Even then, there are humans like Frisk and Chara who will just wreck their shit regardless. Even with 6 souls and the entire Underground, Asriel couldn't break Frisk because of determination. And even if this game isn't canon (let's face it, it should be), what happens when humans who can just learn to save and load out of sheer will like Clover come into the picture? Also, if souls retain even a modicum of free will, as seen with Omega Flowey, I doubt any monster would be able to handle something like 80 souls. Monsters would be a threat, but humans in UT are just way too busted in the end
@@Charnutboy Even if you do get humans like Frisk on the surface, that’s still many, many, people dead before humans can really fight back. The world on the surface would be apocalyptic, with god like beings just destroying entire human cities before anything gets done by really determined humans. Lots of the human population is definitely going to die, and entire cities being wiped from the face of the earth would be a huge setback. EDIT: Ah, didn’t pay attention to the fact that you said that some humans would be able to reset, which I agree with. The entire event would probably still traumatize that determined human though after they reset.

At least undyne was willing to kill for her people and accepted her demise when she realized she was outmatched, so she melted away laughing that someone else will bring your demise and save everybody
Here martlet was forced to be the last hope of monsterkind when she only wanted to see the good in you (kinda like disbelief papyrus), and when realizing that her time was up and she was going to die failing everybody, that scared her hard, to the point she begged for anybody to help her when there was nobody left...
Holy hell, glad I stopped after pacifist because god, that part hurt so much to watch

It was still implied Clover was sick of Flowey at this point and probably was already tipped off on Flowey's hidden motives. Odds are Clover would have just offed Flowey in the final corridor or something similar.
I could see flowey stealing the souls when clover hold them up, and since 6 sould un ut could overpower a 18 level human in neutral, i would belive 5 could overpower a less determined human.

Clover was already a few tidbits from capping Flowey right then and there even before reaching lvl 20, i doubt the slip up mattered much especially once Clover realised they could save without Flowey now
@@vavalaz Maybe but considering what clover did to asgore... maybe it woud just be an epical battle also clover level 20 so maybe that can compensate clover surpass flowey determination at level 19 so 20 is even more above of his but yeah probably flowey would overpower

Everyone says this ending is noncanon but I could definitely see this being an initial run. After finding out what happened to the other human souls in the underground and how Axis and Asgore "neutralized" them, it would definitely feel like a sort of vendetta that needed to be fulfilled. But afterwards, after freeing the souls and himself, maybe Clover didn't feel... whole, after this ending? Sure this felt like Justice, the monsters did lead to the other children's death, but it just didn't feel particularly right. In the end, resetting and hearing out what the monsters side was without that shadow of hatred and vengeance over his eyes.
Or he could just keep this route and continue with his life as the other five souls are given their conclusion

I disagree. I think the canon way the ending is triggered due to the hundred of resets of flowey hurting him subconsciously. This probably is what made him snap and start a genocide route when it isn't supposed to happen.
@someoneandsomeone3251 the game acts as a prequel to undertale, clover HAS to die in order for frisk to come down and perform genocide, otherwise we have monsterkind recovering from the yellow soul wrecking everything just for another (practically) immortal child to come down and perform genocide AGAIN
Just realized that from what we know from what happens when someone absorbs a soul, that means Asgore is now trapped inside Clover forever , who has full control of the body because I doubt that Clover is going to share the body like what happened to Asreil and Chara, in a cruel fate Asgore must now live on inside a kid that decimated his kingdom, stole his people future and is now on the surface where his people now are probably stuck underground forever and is never going to see them again while being stuck with his murder for who knows how long. Who knows what mental tolls this will do to him at this point, considering his will at this point, wouldn't be a surprise if this broke him.
That would make for a fun Aftermath story
and use asgore's powers now.

All of Asgore's emotions are now Clover's. Clover is gonna live their entire life being picked apart; and while they are Justice, they don't have Integrity. They'll crack, eventually.

Asgore's line "Your fate was sealed the second you entered my kingdom", kinda makes me think that maybe Asgore in Yellow knows about Undertale and what happens, since in the pacifist fight with him if you die and tell him that he killed you, he nods his head, he just never expected Clover to do any of this

Tbh this ending is the best for clover he actually survives and goes home

@@Roto3 Chara for some reason shares traits of Frisk's soul I think. Either that or Frisk unknowingly summoned Chara (or maybe it was due to Flowey's influence). Chara not showing up in Clover's route makes absolute sense as Clover's goals are clear as day in Genocide Route.
Frisk's Genocide route is just pointless.
Clover's Genocide route is backed up by the twisted sense of justice and revenge for the five deceased humans. It may be also assumed that Clover in that route just outright despises monsterkind and does what thinks is right for humanity. However after that, Clover may also lack any sense of humanity too.
Chara is related to determination so them not showing up actually makes sense.
Chara is connected and directly related to the player.
It's the "truechara", our true character afterall while Frisk remains the main character in Undertale.
Clover doesn't have a connection with the player, they don't inherit the red soul, therefore no Chara, because they were actual humans without the power of saving, only through Flowey. They still have their traits however.
But that's the reason that Clover's genocide route doesn't end with Chara, it rather ends with the continuation of the world because you haven't consumed everything the world had to offer.

It's interesting that Level of Violence doesn't turn this human into something unrecognizable even at 20.
Chara wasn't in control they werent haunting Clover, only Frisk. So clover reatains human look while chara morphs Frisk into a souless monster.
Clover does his killing as a form of justice, which is vengeance, so he thinks he is justified.
Frisk kills because of Chara, and they go on a completely uneccessary rampage, making them more of a monster than a human.

A bit of trivia- Martlet, mechanically, has stats that outdo Undyne in pretty much every serious fight.
Martlet has 12 AT and 8 DF during the first Genocide fight- Regular Undyne has 7 AT and 0 DF mechanically.
Zenith Martlet has 25 AT and 40 DF, while Undyne the Undying has 12 AT and 5 DF mechanically.
And before you get on my case about HP, Undyne the Undying has a modifier where all damage she takes is multiplied by 21. As such, her true HP total is 23,000/21- if rounded up, that would be 1096. Zenith Martlet has 1800 HP.
And no, I'm not counting the date fight with Undyne as a "serious" fight. Frisk was very clearly unwilling to fight seriously.

Hell Clover's genocide run is much more in line with Deltarune's weird run where you fight against the theme that your choices don't matter.

understandable. i just beat martlet and it took about 8 hours straight of playing to do
yeah they mentioned on twitter that they're working on a patch to fix common complaints and balance difficulty a bit better. i was at this fight for honest to goodness 8 hours straight and got so painfully close. in the meantime, you can do what i did and edit your save file (in appdata local) to give yourself healing items at the halfway point, since the items you have in your inventory are in the save file as plain text (if you edit your tempsavefile thats the save file for the checkpoint). did that instead of looking it up cause i still wanted to see it in-game. hope this helps

Pretty sure that only happened in the other version of the game (good route) plus he probably meant that he wished the cycle of him being able to one sidedly slaughter the people who fell down there kept happening
Asgore fought them, we know that much. If you try to tell him that he killed you before (use Talk after dying), he nods knowingly. Also, Toriel said he killed them and he didn't try to argue otherwise.
Also, it's heavily implied that at least some of the humans fought back and probably killed monsters. The revolver being found empty in the dumpster for example implies that it was actually used to shoot and kill monsters (since it _is_ a real gun after all). Also, the ball game implies this too ("Your sure-fire accuracy put an end to the mayhem of 'Ball.' ") Undertale Yellow kind of changes this to mean that the gun was just unloaded in the burial, but I think the game was definitely implying that the Yellow soul came here looking for revenge.
Then, the text for bravery also implies that they probably killed monsters "You are the kind of person who rushes fists-first through all obstacles." At the very least, they probably slapped them around until they surrendered. They weren't totally pacifist.
The tutu being dusty might imply that the blue soul killed monsters (or it's just regular dust, unclear).
Finally, the light blue soul might have killed monsters too ("'Ball' is 'Small.' You waited, still, for this opportunity, ... then dethroned 'Ball' with a sharp attack.") The only ones that don't have flavor text that implies killing monsters are the green soul (Kindness) and the blue soul.

...You do realize that was Concentrated Determination, right? She got the frickin Undyne The Undying makeover there. Not to mention she should be happy she was lucky enough to be spared the fate of the others who got injected with that very same determination.
This boss was like fighting sans for the first time but on drugs. The amount of perfect timed dodges you have to do to avoid attacks is fucking insane. Though i must say the rest of the ending was really satisfying. Asgore being all confident and thinking this will be at the very least an equal battle before his trident, probably the most powerful weapon in the whole underground, just fucking shatters upon MERELY TOUCHING, **THE MOST VULNERABLE AND UNDEFENDED PART OF THE HUMAN**. Then he gets reduced to dust along with his throne. Great shit.

there’s a checkpoint at phase 2, but your healing items don’t restore at all. so you have to try and keep your healing items through the whole fight.

Clover also doomed the entirety of monsterkind to eternal suffering underground. with the 5 souls gone and Asgore and Flowey dead, the events of UT cannot happen and the barrier will never be broken.
Which is why my cannon ending is that after years of getting over his childhood angst clover realizes that no amount of vengeance can bring the 5 humans back, that maybe monsterkind might have had their own source of justice to do what they did. clover chooses to reset in order to find out if monsterkind had a "just" reason to kill the 5 humans, the events of pacifist plays out and clover ultimately decides to sacrifice themselves to eventually free monsterkind.

I also prefer Genocide ending because of that. It would be even better if Frisk and other children won't make it to the Mountain, since Monsters will now be even more hostile to humans than ever. Aside from that, this ending really gives you feeling that you have ACTUALLY achieved something (Unlike pointless Pacifist and Neutral that end up with Flowey resetting the whole thing)

It’s a what-if scenario, and with timeline shenanigans all of these possibilities could happen and there’d still be one timeline that lines up with the one that Undertale takes place in.
Tbf the neutral ending can be canon as Flowey will always just reset it at the end anyways. It's just the genocide ending where it isn't the case

i always preferred the genocide and neutral endings over the pacifist ending. the genocide and neutral endings are just so much more badass compared to the pacifist ending. i see a lot of people talk about how sad ceroba's backstory is, personally i didn't really care. it was her fault her child fell down. her final boss fight in the pacifist route also dragged on for an incredibly long time and i thought it was kind of funny how the devs had the nerve to use the "hopes and dreams" leitmotif in the final phase of her fight when it just felt kind of unearned.
i struggled with trying to care about any of the characters in undertale yellow. there are no moments where you actually hang out in service of getting a better ending like there are in undertale proper. the feisty five stuff is not optional, it's obligatory and kind of annoying to sit through on repeat playthroughs, and you never really see any of them again except for starlo.
i also think the martlet fight at the end of the genocide route is incredibly unfair, at least the second phase. it could be argued the whole point of the fight is to be unfair, but it felt less like a challenge to be overcome (like sans) and more like a test of how many times i could press the X button. the pattern of her attacks in the first phase is somewhat predictable, but in her second phase her patterns are completely random, and are impossible to anticipate and very hard to dodge. even with infinite heals from enduring i found myself getting incredibly annoyed at how unfair all of her falling block attacks were because of how janky the dash was. i also found the big laser attack to be completely useless. using auto-fire is the only way to beat this fight so that you don't have to split your attention between trying to dodge and also holding down the fire button.
the absolute best part of undertale yellow was flowey's character. it's another reason why the neutral and genocide routes were my favorite, there was just more flowey in them. he got incredible characterization for both routes and i was always interested in hearing what he had to say, and it was very satisfying killing him at the end of the genocide route.

Man, I wish I could have finished this battle in my no mercy run, but for some reason in this fight I have some pretty severe performance problems that make it difficult to dodge attacks, especially the claws, it's strange that this is one of the few moments that I had this problem, one of the others was in the cutscenes of the ceroba fight in pacifist but because it was just that I managed to finish it, honestly I don't know if it's my PC or the game, but for now I've abandoned the no mercy route and I'm doing the neutral route in the hope of not having the same problem.
When I finally beat Martlet, I was so happy. But then the death was, upsetting.
Notice that one of the lines of neutral flowey boss fight is "clover would like to cry but they have no eyes" and then in genocide the first thing that clover shoot is flowey's eyes and eventually the rest of his body?, how the tables has turn, huh?

i'm probably just putting my headcanons but
despite what kinds of monstrosity & sins they committed, clover only did it for justice; THEIR own twisted sense of justice
after all, they reached lv19 when axis admitted they neutralized a human (albeit by force), so they were pretty much going all out to make sure they stay dead and so will the others later on
frisk however never felt such strong emotions, as they were already too powerful, so they didn't made much effort other than to do some slice n dice here and there
that reason is why asgore wasn't hesitant to attack clover; while asgore mistakes frisk as a monster (metaphorically)
frisk had no reason to do this, while clover on the other hand did it for justice, hopefully easing the 5 other souls with them as they left the underground

Very satisfying ending to my taste.I didn't like the true pacifist ending, even if it seems canon.
In this one, Asgore got what he deserved. Toriel calls him a "miserable creature" for a reason.
Asgore could have made the sacrifice and use his soul to free his people. BUT instead, he took not one but FIVE human souls. Children souls besides! Because he was too cowardly for the ultimate sacrifice. If sacrificing innocent lives, children lives, is required to break the spell, then these monsters are not worth it.
So this ending is true justice. Not only for Clover, or those human children whose sacrifice was not necessary (at least 4 of them, that is...), but for the monsters too.
Also, Asriel is finally put out of his misery once and for all. This also why I preferred the neutral ending in the original game.
I just cant justify the prior genocide of this region of the underground to get there yknow? Clover won, but at a price too monumental to be truly worth it.
People justify clover by saying that he only attacks moster that attack them but marlet is not justified in both routes because you go and start the fight for no reason
Yesterday when i beat martlet i got softlocked (the player was standing on a wall for some reason after the fight) so now i have to redo it...
