Over hated goalkeeper. Manchester City would never be able to play the football Pep Guardiola has been applying in the last 3-4 years without a figure like Ederson at the back. The fact he's the calmest GK in the world when it comes to playing with his feet and the best one when it comes to ball distribution as well allows City to build up from GK to the Striker up front without worrying about being under pressure. His vision and passing range is elite and when the opponents play high press against City he'll always find someone on the pitch to play the ball to, whether if it's a midfielder, a wide full back or a striker, he rarely gives the ball away to the opposing team by misplacing a pass. In the match vs Arsenal he was playing as a "dummy" coming out of his 6 yard line to basically draw attention from one of the players who were applying high press on City's defence, therefore allowing his teammates to have more passing options.
Even though he is top3 itw with the ball and helps us in the buildup, we just isn't good enough as a goalkeeper and this costed us some UCLs along the way - and everybody knows it, even the team said about it in interviews
