They are way too expensive, I have never called them. He also calls the Plumbers/ Heating Engineers self employed or contractual workers so he doesn't have to pay sick pay or annual leave, but the managers bully them into taking on more and more hours. The man is screwing everyone.
That’s just not true, I lived in Chelsea for 10 years, Pimlico plumbers was always the expensive option, you could easily go down the listings and find someone half the price. The issue was he acquired long term contacts for many serviced dwellings and made connections. I used to see a van on every street just walking from my flat to the shop. But the prices were ridiculous for simple call outs but with a fast reliable service which local tradesmen couldn’t compete with in terms of efficiency. That doesn’t make him a bad egg. He gave his workers self employed contracts yes but he also gave them a van and all the tools to start and funnelled the jobs in through a network before the boom of internet on demand tradesmen. I used to bump into him in the Duke of wellington pub in Belgravia. His giant blue rolls outside, but he wasn’t a snobby guy.😊

If the PE firm didn’t make him sign a non compete then it’s on them boo. If you sell to a PE firm dumb enough not to have one, you should start a competitor just because you know alll the tricks and can take thier market share then sell that to another PE or buy back the original company at a much lower valuation, merge the companies and sell the higher value business again.
