i didn't get this line " the daughter paramecium receives one maconucleus fron the exconjugant but doesnot divide along with exconjugants" Can anyone help me here ? 😪
It's kinda a proto form of sexual reproduction. So instead of cloning itself forever, it also makes new paramecium. Restoring vigour is I'd assume just a way to explain what it's doing. Just like a son is eventually more vigourous than a father. ELI5 version: In this situation the organism kinda turns itself into its own offspring and then clones many offspring of itself until they can't clone anymore then they conjugate again with other clones of other paramecium. Mitosis=cloning(which is what most of our cells do, except sex cells) meiosis=making sex cells(way more to it, but we only do this with our sperm and eggs)
It means that after multiple binary fissions, macronucleus becomes unable to divide anymore and hence conjugation forms a new macronucleus which is able to divide.
Will it then be right for us to say there are 2 generations- A growth generation where there is binary fission and then a sexual generation where conjugation occurs?
Have you found an answer yet? The way I understand it is that there are more then 1 generation that divide using mitosis and then after some time conjugation happens. But I dont know how that is triggered or if it just happens randomly

What is meant by “restores vigor and activity”. Does conjugation somehow make paramecium more youthful?
It's kinda a proto form of sexual reproduction. So instead of cloning itself forever, it also makes new paramecium. Restoring vigour is I'd assume just a way to explain what it's doing. Just like a son is eventually more vigourous than a father.

Please make more videos like this on biological processes... Thank u sir...

binary fission is asexual reproduction

Correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t that asexual?
Edit: Never mind I’m dumb
No it's sexual reproduction... bcz it's actually named as "Conjugation" which is a type of sexual reproduction...
Niìce
I got it
God is amazing
paramecium
It is not an sexual reproduction it is asexual one
No it's sexual reproduction
