I think you'll get a kick out of this: There is actually an answer to, "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" "Because it can produce a few notes, however flat; and it's NEVAR with the wrong end in front."
Personally, I love this movie because I love versions of Alice in Wonderland where they take that childish sense of wonder and add a little darkness to it and I feel that this movie really delivers that. It definitely has some problems and I understand why a lot of people don't like it but I can't help but love it 😁 Plus Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is perfect!
I don't know if anyone answered your question about the eyepatch !! I think that when it's red, it's because he is expressing 'love' for Iracebeth and then it turns to black to show his true colors; he's a black-hearted villain.
I didn’t think the film was that bad, but the fact that this made over $1 billion worldwide at the box office is insane! And it’s easy to see why. It was the first Disney live action reboot of the modern era, untapped nostalgia, Tim Burton (at the time), Johnny Depp (at the time) and 3D hype thanks to Avatar, which came out three months prior to Alice.
Yeah, It is how all live action movies should be. Made with passion, realistically, similar to the original story but deeper or darker or just different in some things to be a good film that is not only the retold story. It is interesting different and just creative. Disney has money but they don't use them and don't experiment with new styles (okay, maybe Lion King live action was a new style but it was full of horrible directing decisions).
@@crazygamer_1082 What I mean by this is that Avatar came out in December 2009, and it basically brought this 3D technology back from the dead (old movies were a different type of 3D). Thus any film that released shortly after Avatar (in this case 2010) benefitted from a 3D boost if it had this new 3D technology. Alice came out in March 2010, which I believe was the first mainstream RealD film to do so after Avatar.

this movie made Alice in Wonderland my favourite "fairy tale" (if you count it as one). i read the book years later and i still love the entire aesthetic of Wonderland. the Cheshire Cat was my favourite along the Mad Hatter🥺
4:39 Omg, my grandmother was the exact same! When my uncle got an "ugly" girl pregnant he actually cried telling my grandma! Not cause he got the girl pregnant, but because he knew my grandma would be unhappy/angry about a potential ugly grandchild. 😅
Bro, I'm so happy that Sophie reacted and commented on this movie that is by far my movie/Live-action remake. I really enjoyed the video and let's agree that the rabbit hole scene in this one is one of the best creative choices and directions Disney has ever given us.
i LIVE for aesthetic movies, so, even after reading the book, i still loved the movie. idk is just so pretty and has beautiful characters, i adore either way.
I like how you indirectly mentioned all characters' good and dark sides (i'm talking specifically about White and Red queen). In one of the interviews Tim said that there is no character in Wonderland who is completely bad or good because everyone has their good and dark sides, and every time i go back to this movie I'm sad that not everyone understands that. Also this is the first time I'm on your channel and I really liked the way you made this video. You seem like a very charismatic and nice person and i liked the jokes, so good luck with future development of your channel, you deserve more subscribers💙
I love this movie, I dont get all the hate it gets. I feel like most people didnt like how far it went from the original Lewis Caroll's Alice, but then the same people will complain that some other Alice in Wonderland movies are too much like the original.😂 And why would you not want soem change in movies? I dont think I would have liked if it was too much like the original story, new is good!
This movie's pretty good and I don't think it deserves the hate it gets, but I still prefer the original 2D version because I like the more nonsensical tone and pace.
I understand like not all live action is good but this one was great and I enjoyed it. The live action Alice in wonderland is a continuation of the original story and as we grow older brighter colors fade slightly and it’s more mature and enjoyable
I love your reactions so much! I spent so much time watching your channel this days, can you react to Monster High or Barbie movies? That will be amazing
I loved the book the movie there's a reason I has the mad hatters hat and the Cheshire cats face tattooed on my arm with the words "we're all mad here"
Sophie's got me watching all these movies I've heard of but never bothered to watch. I guess she's the definition of a influencer. #UndertheSOPHIEinfluence
This movie tries to be a darker version of Alice in Wonderland with all those eye-stabbings and decapitation... But a darker version of this tale came out 10 years prior to this movie as a videogame "American McGee's Alice", and got a sequel the vey next year. But this game haven't received a proper movie adaptation, even though it was made to be one... I've heard the TV series based on this title is on it's way, but I'm not sure if this is still a thing or not.
Allan Rickman and Johnny depp are my favourite. I miss robin Williams and Allan Rickman. Tim burton is good too. Please give waterhorse a watch. I loved it growing up. Another good one is brave heart. 😊. Xx
I love the Tim Burton Alice In Wonderland Films. I’ve been watching them on repeat for the past week cause they’re some of my comfort films and that’s what I do with them. Idk why films that are admittedly not so good are my comfort films but, yeah. These, Penelope, and The Host (2013) just… pure serotonin for some reason 😂
I swear I watched this in cinema with YMCA- But I was 1 when this came out... Wait my brain- Are movies normally still in the cinemas years after they're released- EDIT: NEVERMIND IT WAS ANOTHER ONE LMAO PROBABLY A NEWER ONE :O
Very nice Reaction. Also you should watch and React/Comment on the 1951 Disney Alice in wonderland movie. As That, No offense to this 1, WAS AMAZING. my FAVE Disney movie it is.
Your movie reactions are simply the best. That's all I'm saying. Also can we just appreciate the fact that they got a Cristopher Lee cameo for the dragon?
I enjoyed the movie when it came out but I understand some of the blowback about it. It was turned into 3d after the success of Avatar just before it and a few scenes were added to remind people it was 3d. Unfortunately these scenes took you out of the movie rather than enhancing the effects. On top of that people began hating on Anne Hathaway around this time. I never understood why but she went from a lovable and relateable star to someone despised almost over night. The movie was a huge financial success but it also became disliked as time went on. Alice Through the Looking Glass in 2016 was expected to draw a similar Box office but didn't break $300M, taking in less than a third of the first movie and ended any follow ups.
Heyo pretty girly May I suggest you watch the original animated Alice in wonderland from the 50s? You find out what's in the drink me bottle in that one 😁
i saw this movie in movie theatre and i didn’t like it at all. reasons: blank acting of a main actress, too serious tone and plot (it may be dark, but not serious), lack of original’s absurdity
The movie ends with Alice in control of her destiny. And she gets that way by being forced into a fight she doesn't want because some scroll said that was her destiny. So you can defeat fate only by surrendering to fate. Burton is a hack. Hey, for another Alice in Wonderland, there's the X-rated version which works hard to earn its X rating. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland_(1976_film)
Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter fits like icing on a cake. They couldn't have picked a better person for the role.
This was my favourite movie when it came out, it was the first time I realized I like darker themes. This along with the movie 9 shaped my tastes now

So I looked into it and someone stated that Stayne's Eyepatch is Red to fake his loyalty to his Queen and is Black when embracing his true self.
