nah it isn't all nostalgia Seasons 1-3 had all different writing staff. Show was just better and more clever.

There's quite a few episodes where patrick acts very strangely. Squidward is honest and you know where you got him and what he honestly thinks, for the most part

The best season is the 3rd season, the 1st is classic but go rewatch the third one and you'll realize I'm right. In terms of ranking it goes 3rd season, 2nd season >= 1st season (either better or equal to), then 4th season which is still good just not on the level of previous 3, 5th season is alright and onward is whatever to garbage......some good shit sprinkled in there but mostly weak
