So, since this is now my most viewed video, and many more people seem to be seeing this, I thought it would be a good idea to put a few things to note here. 1st of all, I've updated the Zero Soul fight a bit, balancing some attacks, changing the background slightly, and changing one of the eye phase's attacks completely. I do not plan to change the fight anymore. I would rather spend more time doing other things than fixing this. 2nd of all, I know that some of the attacks are hard to see due to the background in the Soul phase, that was purposeful. It was my way of adding difficulty (maybe not the best way in hindsight) however the update might make it easier to see. 3rd of all, no mobile. And lastly, thank you all for watching and playing!
This was surreal to see after being obsessed with Zero and 0^2 since 2008. The day someone figures out how to recreate the 0^2 battle and make it more challenging will be the day my feels will be indescribable and nothing will ever compare.
Honestly yes. 02 was an interesting fight and the 3D made it feel different even from other flying shooter bosses like Nightmare, 0, and the Lor, but it’s also so easy.
It was an interesting recreation and the extension fitted incredibly well with the kind of atmosphere and personality Dark Matter entities usually show. Very dark, possessive and suffocating. The last eyeball design isn't as menacing and in tune, but that's a veeery little detail, everything else is quite good.
After zero's eye was demolished, the winds picked up. Kirby was sucked into a dark tornado, only to see the corpse of 0. Suddenly, 0 started to resurrect itself in front of Kirby, thus, creating 0 soul.
Possibly something we can expect from the final entry in the Kirby series ending with Zero, forever seems fitting so Kirby, can finally rest, and live a peaceful life, but still the defender of popstar.
If Dreamland 3 pulled an Ultra with a remake, I’d like to see something vastly similar to this happen, albeit changing the final form up abit to look more like an underdeveloped 02 so it ties in with the foreshadowing of 0’s return in the crystal shards. You did very well on this!
Noticed differences: -Zero doesn't aim his blood shots up or down like in the original. -When spawning Dark Matters in the original, they would be anchored to Zero's sprite until the moment they fly off. Here, they just stay where they are spawned, which is noticeable as they often come off Zero before they're even fully formed. -For the background attack, the blood splatters move a bit after hitting the screen. -Zero had a tell for the charging attack in the original where his sprite would squish faster than usual right before he rushes forward. I don't think I saw that here. -The blood bullets could be destroyed in the original, but that doesn't appear to be the case here. -The eye's tracking in the second phase seems to be more direct than in the original, as well as having smoother rotation. Overall, a very nicely done recreation! Good job!
The Zero Soul was so hard, the ost was really beautiful, the boosted mini-dark matter's attack was a little too hard to avoid, anyway this is the most epic Scratch game I've ever seen, congrats!
I like the concept! I always felt like Zero in Kirby's Dreamland 3 was weaker than Dark Matter in Kirby's Dreamland 2 Your Zero Soul actually suits the title, Leader of the Dark Matter
I don't know if you coded it in and it simply never showed up, but Zero is missing his Ramming attack. He will sometimes try to ram at Kirby but not go into his background attack, simply as a means of punishing you for zoning. Zero's body frame is very large, so while the move is somewhat is sluggish, it is rather effective.
This is really well made! The only suggestion I have is to have some kind of indication for the laser spam attacks at the very end-it feels like the lasers fire in random directions with no real way to know where they're going to go, so dodging them seems like it would be a bit of a crapshoot, as evidenced by the fact that that particular attack pattern was where you took by far the most damage. Just add some kind of tell, even if it's just changing the white dots to something with a clear front and back!
I appreciate the criticism and will take it into account. The lasers actually point at you when they first spawn, and I just assumed that it would be easy to figure out, even if the attack was hard and a little unbalanced. (I was the only one who play tested it, so my knowledge of the code probably got in the way of my reasoning). Thanks for the comment!
@@sonicspindash9222 yeah, the very end, when they shot in groups of 5 or so did make that clear after a few volleys, but if that held true for the more individual ones, it was hard to tell. Happy to do a little black box for you, however indirectly.
This is AMAZING. I was expecting it to be only Zero and MAYBE Zero 2, I sure wasn't expecting zero's soul and that last form, which I suppose is Zero's essence.
This is a cool recreation of the fight... although the rematch of Zero is quite busy in the visuals, particularly the red clouds in the foreground. Got confused with the attacks and the foreground because of the movement and lack of transparency

Ok, I will admit, I did get a little lazy on the visual side of Zero Soul, but hey I did make the eye look different. Now that I think about it, I actually had a reason for that. Basically, the white part it just a shell, and Zero Soul just reuses that shell, the eye changes because the eye is what Zero is (in my headcanon).
@@cosmicspacething3474 Or perhaps as Zero Soul takes damage, the Shell cracks further (since this is the second time it's being beaten down on), with the cracks transitioning between Black and Glowing Red, giving the appearance that the Eye is Bloodshot...

Love the way zero soul was shown wish we got to see all of zero soul attacks assume if it follows the soul attack pattern formula lasers though should be work on more and eye sprite feel like there is a better design but that mostly a nitpick still cool to battle against
Do Agree That the Zero Soul Phase 1 Dark Matter attack A Bit Too Fast For Sure with the Second part of Phase 1 I Do also say the First phase background attack a Little bit to fast for a First part but I Try my best to Finish it (also Gotta Like the bad ending too)
PATRICK: HOW ABOUT YOU MAKE A REMADE BOSS FIGHT OF DARK MATTER! AND WHEN DARK MATTER IS DEFEATED, HE TRANSFORMS INTO DARK MATTER BLADE FOR THE 2ND PHASE. AND IN THE 3RD PHASE, HE GROWS INTO A GIANT! NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!
I know you aren't going to change this any more, but I would like to mention that when kirby swings the love love stick, it also has a hitbox that deals melee damage double that of the projectile
The problems with that is 1. I already have the code set up to work the way it does, 2. I would have to transfer everything over to one project, and 3. I would have to change a bunch of variable names so that overlapping code from the two boss fights doesn't happen. Having two different projects makes everything a lot more convenient, and it would be a real pain to mess with it.
I just hope that someday we can get a battle like this that is even more hype for some kind of finale to the entire series that will be really emotional that the world is finally rid of dark matter, no more suffering.

I love this, you are so talented!
HAL should definitely see this and take inspiration from you after recreating that boss fight! This is True Arena quality right there.
This fight is insane my dude. loved every second of it.
The soul form should look more like void termina or something IMO. Its kinda the exact same aside from its second phase.

The reason why the clouds are just black instead of red and blue are actually to avoid seizures (until there is zero soul)
The colors are the same as the boss rush zero fight in dreamland 3
And then the celebration music cuts as all the white balls in the background open their eyes.

are dark matters disgused as clouds
*THIS* IS EPIC!
U did this on scratch
