Tried this car today. Visibility, leg/head room is exceptional! Am very tall it's perfect don't let the small car looks fool you there's lots of room. Easy to get in and out big doors and the ride is pretty smooth!
I am on my second cube, 30 mpg , Tons of room, easy to park , see out of , haul things many great features, funky shape, I love it,!! if you got kids this is better then a minivan..
You're right about the wind noise; I also noticed some engine noise and tire thrum on some our rough California highways. I had the CVT and it was excellent. Our main problem was stability in cross winds. It wasn't susceptible to "just drove by a truck and got hit by wind" issues - but gusting, cross-freeway winds made the steering feel really twitchy and on one tall bridge actually threatened to blow me around in my lane. Strangely, it was great for road trips, when weighed down with two light adults and two small children, the extra weight gave it the stability we missed when it was only me driving. I still miss my old Cube, and wish they sold an update one. Less whimsy and more Scion utility would work, too.
don't expect much shoulder room. me and my dad rub shoulders when in the front seats, and the passenger seat doesn't have an arm rest which is really annoying since it causes both of us to compete for the one rest on the driver seat
The high ceilings are the one thing I noticed about this car right off the bat when I drove one. Extremely easy to get in and out of. I think it would be a great choice for physically handicapped people. It's got a HUGE interior for such a small footprint. The Scion XB is sort of the same way and is very similar to the Cube.
"A unique transportation unit." That's great. I have an 06 Scion xB. The Cube's brother from another mother. I love the wierdo styling of these. I'd probably be familiar with its highway wind noise too.
i never really cared for cars. until this cube came to the usa it rocks its like the coolests car on the road i love it alot it is going to be my car in 60 months when i get one its so cool its rock i love the cube and every thing about it!
I have the same car, It is awesome no problems at all 140 000 miles runs like new. I flush all the fluids, change all filters, changed all spark plugs and spark plug wires. Ceramic brake pads. Go to a great mechanic and have them do a 3 step fuel fuel injection cleaning service. Make sure they use BG products. It gets rid of all carbon build up The car roars now. Also use royal purple engine oil it is better then mobil 1 one oil. It drives like a race car now!!!! Also use Trico Titan wipers they work the best. ALso buy the royal purple oil filter and change serpentine belt every 80 000 miles to be safe.
The only bug (to-date) in my 2009 model is the rear wiper washer nozzle is clogged and the cost of replacement is not quite worth it considering the car is being used in the desert. Without use - they just do that (grit and dust accumulate in the sprayer) and in the desert - it's just not getting used (so even if I replaced the nozzle - it'd fail again in 3-4 years).
Evidently the CVT transmission is this vehicle`s 'Achilles heel.' The Car Wizard rigorously suggests new tranny fluid, filter & 'magnet cleaning' EVERY 20k miles ! Disregard what the owners manual says, otherwise you may be spending $5k for a new one in your near future.
Also the rear seat slides back and forth about 6" for extra leg space for rear passengers, or more trunk/boot space. There is an underfloor storage area under the rear passengers feet. Great review, thanks. PS.l own a 2013 Z12 cube, great car!.
The best bit is it's insanely safer than the BMW mini, but is only a foot longer. The passenger and interior is massive in comparison. Great crash test scores too. Pity they didn't put in a round roof light to match the ripples. That always bugged me. One note - the 'dash toupe' - Many Cube owners (me included) call them 'Cube Pubes'.
The fuel flap lever has a notch in it,( visible in the video), making it easy to tell it from the bonnet/ hood release next to it. You don't even have to glance down, never once got it wrong after 2 years of trouble free motoring in our delightful Z12 car 😊.
I LOVED driving this car as a rental. So much so I rented it again. Rear view is not good however; can't see much out the back window. Car drove really well. Very nice once you're inside. Drive this in California with a surfboard on the roof. A classic.
Its 2020, we have a 2009 Cube. My wife has put 120.000 on it. She is disappointed Nissan doesnt Have them anymore. Best Vehicle we have owned for a new car.
I have a 20 09 Nissan Cube and the car slowly slows down on driving it and then it comes back slowly i've chased it gas filter i've changed the accelerator paddle and it is still doing the same thing i'm lost in what to do next please help
We liked this car so much we own two my wife gave up the keys to my suburban and I was happy! Now we bought one for my daughter. The gas milage is better than he states. Avg,34 on both..Hey I have to have my suburban to tow the boat and I absolutely love the Suburban. I DO NOT like the way the Cube looks but my girls do. I like everything else about it..Its a great car.If your torn between this and the other two I will push you over the edge, NO TIMING BELT!!!!.I00 k war. on the transmission.
@TheMarlonsandifer I think it would be perfect for a someone young or old.. I just got one..its perfect.. At first I was like..the car is ugly lol but I dunno..it grew on me..its gorgeous now very unique and so much darm room... lol..
Better get the manual transmission if you really want one of these. Their CVT transmissions are junk. No wonder Kia Soul beat the Nissan Cube and Scion XB. The Kia Soul is the most comfortable out of them all, as far as interior ergonomics is concerned. I'm 6'3" and didn't find the Cube or XB comfortable, because the steering wheels are too close to the dashboard and not high enough when adjusted.
28MPG is good? My old 02 plate fiat Doblo 1.9JTD used to get 71 if driven correctly and that was much bigger! In fact... an LDV motor-home conversion van gets 28MPG and that is carrying around a kitchen sink
Until I remembered this car is Japanese, I always figured the design team just hired an American 3rd grade art teacher to design their car. The rear end of the car is the hardest to stomach. The bumper looks like a TV remote stuck to a fat person's butt.
I like the way the car looks, but it has too many tacky features that make it seem desperate to stand out. Like the carpet on the dash, pointless. It doesn't even looks cool. The ripple on the ceiling is pretty cool, but a little pointless. The asymmetrical rear window is not completely pointless, as it would probably help the driver see better out of a blind spot (except that drivers shouldn't be looking behind them while driving).

Too bad it has CVT
@@toyoscio Most of the Nissan lineup has CVTs. Even the Pathfinder.

Im in the process of buying a 2009 Nissan Cube, i always wanted one. I love everything about the Cube, its red, im going to name her Ruby Cube.
Why not rubix cube--- oh yeah it's red
Thats funny that is the other name i have for her...lol
Donald Thompson I have a red one and her name is ruby woo, like the MAC lipstick

It stands out visually, has enough space for us tall guys, and gets decent mileage. I want one :-)
***** CVT is horrible. My 6 speed is a blast to drive.
That is why I bought it. Room to stretch out.
don't expect much shoulder room. me and my dad rub shoulders when in the front seats, and the passenger seat doesn't have an arm rest which is really annoying since it causes both of us to compete for the one rest on the driver seat
brandon olney A truck hit it while I was parked and destroyed it. I have a Colorado now.
Wow that seems like hard work to glorify a genuinely dreadful vehicle.

I have one leg & drive an element (similar setup.) Most definitely a good handicapped vehicle layout.

I wish more company would consider selling cube shape cars like this one in North America. In Japan it's very common to see these.

If anyone has had a car boot slammed on their head you will love the way this boot opens.
like nissan cube, perfect for my place,.where narrow roads and traffic is part of our day.

I am close to buying one of these. If I had the opportunity to buy two cars one would definitely be a cube.
I'd love to have one. It is functional, most likely reliable and economical.
Maybe one day.
The tailgate also comes out on a Lexus gx
Its 2020, we have a 2009 Cube. My wife has put 120.000 on it. She is disappointed Nissan doesnt Have them anymore. Best Vehicle we have owned for a new car.
Love this for Uber/Lyft
It's design reminds me of some 1920's/1930's automobiles in some points!
Did you purchase a cube?
@TheMarlonsandifer THE BEST!!!!You will love it too!
I have a 20 09 Nissan Cube and the car slowly slows down on driving it and then it comes back slowly i've chased it gas filter i've changed the accelerator paddle and it is still doing the same thing i'm lost in what to do next please help

You're a very strange person. The unique and cool looks are literally the only thing this car has going for it.
That sounds exactly like my 03 Honda CR-V... Minus the engine noise and cumber-sum handling, but with more blind-spots.
I want one!
I love my Cube!
Great review
Dropped it into the ocean? Uh the ocean has to rough of water to see ripples
Where is the jack and spare tire located in this model?
@ConsumerReports...Is this a 2009 model? I'm interested in buying one. thanks.
Bought a 2010 with 120,000 miles. Within 2 months Power windows and A/C stopped working. As soon as I can I am dumping it.
Love Boxy!!
@TheMarlonsandifer I think it would be perfect for a someone young or old.. I just got one..its perfect.. At first I was like..the car is ugly lol but I dunno..it grew on me..its gorgeous now very unique and so much darm room... lol..
"ABSOLUTELY GOBS OF ROOM"
Whete is thé ordinateur is located
what is the carpet for?
i really hate box shaped cars, but this is pretty slick none the less

Funky...I love it!
60 months?
28 mpg thats mad might buy a jag
You have to tell me your secret of getting 71 mpg out of a car that is rated at 37 mpg (US) 44 mpg (UK). I'm calling BS.
4:00 I must have missed where they said they got 71 mpg
28MPG is good? My old 02 plate fiat Doblo 1.9JTD used to get 71 if driven correctly and that was much bigger! In fact... an LDV motor-home conversion van gets 28MPG and that is carrying around a kitchen sink
Diesels get better mpg than gas that's why
I don't know why but I like this car. Dare to be different 🤣
Mine is called Chunk with a Goonie sticker on it
why am i watching this?
The CVT kills these.
Why?
i want one.
CÖÖL ✌😎👍
Indeed, and I bet this is going to end up being like the Scion, where I see 50 year old "youngsters" drive this toy eveyday.
IF the short bus was a car......
Until I remembered this car is Japanese, I always figured the design team just hired an American 3rd grade art teacher to design their car.

i never another nissan cvt suck so muchhhhhh

Except it's not really wraparound, it only looks it from the outside.
This car is a car for Children :) haha Looks like a huge toy :D
@flipfloplogic Id recommend a honda fit. much better
this car is a gimmick car
@TheNissanCube dude...no its defiantly not the coolest car on the rad not even close calm down
Galass
this car is weird haha
The cube in my opinion is ugly. The design to me is weird.
Yeah, suuure I sooo wanna drive in a cube. The title it self tells you how much this car sucks
Super Ugly
