Outstanding! Thanks much. These time-travelling vignettes are absolutely brilliant.
Wow! Fantastic video on de László and great information on the art of portraiture.
Love it. Discovering incredible portrait artists and feel very inspired. Perhaps i could achieve this level with hard work one day.
Fantastic!!! Loved this!!!
Thank you for this wonderful video.
What an incredible artist. i had never heard of him and I have a minor in art history!
Awesome! ……incredible to see actual footage of a great 19th/20th century master at work!…..thank you for giving us the opportunity to view those clips of this incredibly talented artist - his brushwork in some of the portraits reminds me a lot of John Singer Sargent’s style.
Terrific video. Interesting painter.
Using the minimum of strokes, like Sergent, Delazlos work certainly has a freshness about it. I like your choice of artists so have happily subscribed.🙂
😊😊😊Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge. The history behind this artist is absolutely enlightening.
So great i really liked all the info of a Real True Artist. Makes Pollack look like a kindergarter. Too bad he not here. Nobody like hom EVER
Marvelous! Thank you for sharing.I never heard of Philip de László before. Quite a talent he was! Do you also have an episode about the Belgian nobility painter Alfred Émile Léopold Stevens (11 May 1823 - 24 August 1906) ?? I also a big fan of Stevens. I once saw in reality a big painting of Stevens at the TEFAF art fair, I think it was in Maastricht in 2009. It was fabulous to stand in front of a real Stevens.
A good artist does not necessarily reveal the “true” or “real” person in a “good” portrait, but rather the idealised person - eg, the strength of character, or the beauty of the subject. And that’s how it should be.
Many thanks for posting. Beautiful artworks.❤❤❤
