Every day people ask "I'm from [x], and moving to Seattle. What should I expect?". Since this Almost Live! special is from 1994, many things have changed. But many things remain the same as well. I remember moving to Seattle from the D.C. suburbs on February 14, 1990. I was so freaked out but enchanted with this weird-ass place. My girlfriend and I watched "Almost Live" and could barely make any sense of it, even though she had lived here for a year in 1983 as a traveling nurse. Seattle WAS fun back then. I so wish it hadn't changed. 😢

Jesus, this brings back memories...I can't believe it's been nearly 30 years. My friends and I still quote Roscoe's Oriental Rug Emporium to this day (and I remain in awe of Pat Cashman's breath control, seriously).
