I could not believe that I could actually come out of this horrible state of affairs that I had put myself in by getting too far into debt and losing my income. Actually if it were garnished a claim of exemption could be filed and the court would order it be returned. Also twice the amount of federal benefit like SS deposited into a bank account, that sum is protected regardless of the source of funds in the account at the time of garnishment.
