oh interesting, here locally i remember to find a very similar looking pallete online for sale, but it did not have any "brand" placed anywhere on the outside. only a couple few were sold, but it was a palette design i was a bit interested in. i cant find the product listing anymore though, as i was looking to maybe buy a new palette sometime around last christmas season
I've got a few palettes, as we all have, most of which were bought during my first year of painting. Since then, I've favoured DIY palettes made from various metal tins and the odd plastic travel palette. I also prefer full pan sizes or larger (like Kuretake). I also use paint fresh out of the tube onto various porcelain palettes, baking trays and soup bowls! I can see that this one has generous mixing areas, given the small size of the palette.
@@JayNathanWatercolor I'm still addicted to trying different paints. I've just set up my 16 pan Roman Szmal set because of your excellent swatching videos and today I'm giving it a test run 😄
I don’t think I will be getting one of these palettes, though I chuckled when you talked about the thumb hole. I would find that very annoying! W&N half pans are a little narrower than most, I wonder if they would fit? I might have considered this palette if the inside had been a bit different. My first mod would have been a place for both right and left thumbs to rest to make it better for anyone. It’s a bit minimal for my liking so I will stick to the tried and tested ‘12 half pan’ tins into which I can usually manage to get at least 18 if I want more colours. If I want full pans instead I can mostly fit 8. This palette does not offer the versatility I think it could do, the wells have not decided what they are for, pans or freshly squeezed, they seem to lurk uncomfortably in between and I feel my thumb would do the same.
Actually it is very comfortable to hold. It doesn't look that way but it really is. I have pans that fit in the spaces and I even have a few extra pans in the palette. I use it often and it is great to use. Very enjoyable.
I love the layout of this. It is a very unique design
Thanks for sharing this with us. I use magic sponges to scuff up the mixing areas so they don't bead up and for clean up as well. Have a great day
Interesting, I've often seen this one on Jackson's. It stands out because of the shape!
