the singer was Terry Linn (popular Chinese singer from Taiwan) at that time he was 51 years old he admired Dimash a lot and declared himself as Dimash's adoptive father. Dimash also got an adoptive mother Han Hong at this competition who wrote the song ,, Daybreak,, which Dimash sang at this competition Dimash addresses Terry Linn ... Linpapa and they are great friends ... this year Dimash was a guest at Terry's concert
Uptown Funk wasn’t his best song, nor did he get the best results, but you can see how much fun he had with it. Adagio was the 6th performance of The Singer competition in China in 2017. A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time, I see this performance I forget to breathe and get goosebumps all over my body. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see that I’m not the only one. He even makes jury members cry. This is so emotional because he literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the last episode on Uptown Funk. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. And yes, if you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. Somewhere on yt you can see a video where a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Especially to Terry Lin, the new singer. They became really, really good friends. Just for fun, Terry adopted Dimash and Dimash named him Papa Lin. Do not be fooled. Terry is older than he looks. He was 50 years old then. They performed together on stage and sang Dimash’s song Unforgettable Day together. They visit each other when they can and send each other birthday greetings. On the Gloria Wu channel you can see most of The Singer songs with backstories and you also have subtitles of the conversations between the other competitors which are not available in this videos. They are so funny. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️
🇲🇽❤️💕🇲🇽❤️💕🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Dimash sang and performed well and I would love to see him in a duet with Bruno Mars! I hate this episode because of the costume Dimash was too polite to reject. 😂❤
I love that he had so much fun performing this but for a singing competition it was not a song that highlighted his voice at all. He has his own pop songs now that are crafted specifically to his voice that highlight his mastery over his pop vocals much better. Adagio though makes up for this 10X over. It’s one of his finest performances.
I completely agree with you that songs that touch you more emotionally will be a winners. Uptown Funk was much lighter song. Still Dimash did good considering he didn’t speak English well at that time.
I have to say it was a really bad song choice for him. He did say that he made his own choices through this show, perhaps he chose it because they had so much fun singing it at university?
@@BelleNewman oh that would make sense. I do remember that video of him back in the classroom with his classmates all singing this together though. Strangely enough he did a much better job of it there than on the Singer episode.

That was Terry Lin who he later calls Peppa Lin.they are very good friends.they have sung in each others concert.
21:30 Terry Lin. Dimash and him became friends after this competition, they are guests on eachother concerts etc.
This song particularly isn’t my cup of tea but I love to see Dimash having fun and enjoying himself. That makes me happy and lifts my mood.
Thank you for the fun viewing of Singer 2017! It was a sweet show, really, with kindness and graciousness among all the competitors. ❤🎉❤

I think in China, that, the first name is the sir name and the given name comes second. So Lin is Terry's second name. Make sense?
For sure! Didn’t know that! Much appreciated!
In this song Dimash got the lowest score he had ever gotten. I don't think he picked the song himself but who knows. It was really disappointing.😢😢
I have to say it was a really bad song choice for him. He did say that he made his own choices through this show, perhaps he chose it because they had so much fun singing it at university?
@@debbiemorgan859I think also in this round all the singers were asked to perform a song that was out of their comfort zone.
@@BelleNewman oh that would make sense. I do remember that video of him back in the classroom with his classmates all singing this together though. Strangely enough he did a much better job of it there than on the Singer episode.
Dimash was very young. He is not a god, and he can make mistakes.
