Whilst im aware that this may not be the perfect time to get into the aviation industry, I disagree on the "Don’t study Aviation now !". Student pilots like myself who go down the GA path and start their training now will graduate in 1-2 years time and wont have the hours and experience required to be able to join an airline. It'll take years (as you probably know) to build up the hours and experience required to join an airline and by the time that happens, im 110% certain that air travel will resume back to normal, pilots will get their jobs back, airlines will start to hire again and etc. Personally I would much rather take the plunge and start my training now so that when the airlines start hiring again I have all the licenses and hours required to apply rather than start later and delay my career. While I cant speak for other countries, here in Australia things are starting to get a bit better and airlines are slowly starting to fly again which is a good sign. Also, lets not forget that aviation isnt all about flying the big jets. There's a lot more to it than that 😉
I agree, if your going the GA route you likely won’t be employable for the airlines for at least 2-3 years, by which time hopefully most travel has started to pick up again, my instructor who also flys for qantas rekons the same as there will be plenty of older guys who would likely not plan on returning if they are close to retirement age anyway. Who knows, if lots of pilots retire early that pilot shortage we used to hear so much about could come back even bigger in the long run.

I chose to study accountancy and finance instead, of going to flying schools and training to become a pilot as a couple of months ago I saw a lot of flying schools just interested in the money you were given them and being dishonest, and telling me that they could get me to places. The pilots with 5000h waiting on the sideline will be the first who get the jobs in the next few years, not the fresh ones, who will be waiting many years more to get into a cockpit and be payed!
Hi Pilot Alexander, thanks for your honest opinion. I live in Qatar, grew up in this beautiful country, and currently have a very good paying job at Qatargas. I do not like my job and after watching you, Captain Joe, and Mentour Pilot really wanted to become a pilot. But at 33 with parents depending on me and the aviation industry being so hard hit by covid, this is not the time to make a career change move. Thanks for your honest opinion again. Agree with you there. Best thing is to study something else University or even something like 2 year electrician course. On the meanwhile slowly pick up your PPL (learn and really understand) and later on your CPL. Build the hours slowly and enjoy it. Make money on the side while aviation improves.
Don't quite agree completely, this is probably the perfect time to start and study especially pass all the required ground exams so that once the aviation industry picks up, you will be finished your 1 to 2 year course and start a job in aviation. But also keep your main job to pay for it all

Interesting thought. I didn't expect to hear it's not a good idea to become a pilot now. I'm not a pilot, I work in an IT company. But I always thought that becoming a pilot is a good investment. It appears it isn't. At least right now.
Don't you think in 2-3 years the situation will get back to normal? I'm only a GA pilot so I don't really know how long it usually takes to build up from 0 to airline pilot but I would assume at least a few years...
It's upto the people how fast and more they buy tickets to refill the economic dent in airline business , no one could give the estimations about the time period
Shaheer considering corona is basically non existent with these protest I hope the economy etc fixes in the next year 12 grade next year, wanted to do aviation to become a a&p mechanic, so I’d be working 3 years from now, actually sad knowing imma prob run into debt
@@Mistyfgdf I don't see a quick regain besides we still in corona it hasn't end yet , where as in many countries this still has to peak, and me as well having amazing plans for my Aviation start-up , I had planned to start my flight school approximately late this year or early next year but now I doesn't seems an any good idea to do during corona or airline crisis .
For how long should we wait till going back to avation, I've been saving money all my life till I had the moment, how long should I wait more to study avation and make my dream comes true?!
De toute façon crise ou pas, c'était déjà la galère. Une bonne partie de ceux qui payent leurs formations ne deviennent jamais pilote ou alors sont obligé passer par le pay to fly.
@@PilotAlexander I shall continue to try my best in the program, but it's a shame that aviation is falling. Also, how can I grow my aviation youtube channel ?
The pilot hiring will resume only when the traffic will have fully restarted. Some Airlines say that the traffic is gonna go back normal at the beginning of 2022 which means that there will be a lot of pilots or flight attendants missing to answer the demand of passenger travelling. If Airlines reopen their cadet programs the new pilots will need at least two or three years to be fully formed and ready to fly passengers. So those pilots will only start to fly in 2024/2025 which seems to be a reasonable moment. For me Airlines are not going to make the same mistakes than during the 2008 global economic crisis and stop recruiting for the next ten years. It’s just an optimistic way to see the 2020 corona virus crisis in therms of pilot recruitment. But we can’t lie though because during the next years until at least the end of 2021 the recruitment isn’t gonna restart.
True what you say about aviation, but you are wrong about singers - us musicians are also severely affected by this crisis, and we also try to make a difference to the world, not just show our pretty faces. We have a calling in life to move people, but in a different way to you. Maybe don't comment on things you don't really understand, and stick to aviation.
@@dochudson4875 No problem man. I was supposed to join a flying school but I'm now reconsidering my decision. There will be brighter days. You can do something for the time being and after this situation is over you can always fly.

It's upto the people how fast and more they buy tickets to refill the economic dent in airline business , no one could give the estimations about the time period
Shaheer considering corona is basically non existent with these protest I hope the economy etc fixes in the next year
12 grade next year, wanted to do aviation to become a a&p mechanic, so I’d be working 3 years from now, actually sad knowing imma prob run into debt
I don’t know
@@Mistyfgdf I don't see a quick regain besides we still in corona it hasn't end yet , where as in many countries this still has to peak, and me as well having amazing plans for my Aviation start-up , I had planned to start my flight school approximately late this year or early next year but now I doesn't seems an any good idea to do during corona or airline crisis .
For how long should we wait till going back to avation, I've been saving money all my life till I had the moment, how long should I wait more to study avation and make my dream comes true?!
Capt. Alexander did you leave aviation career? And why did you leave qatar airways
Sad but true
👍🏻
What if you cant think of anything else that you like, than the love of planes..
Ran Carl sad indeed
Agree ♡
👍🏻
Sweet massage sir.
Agency is making money. You’re right. So right now i ak preparing DGCA exams. So i used stay back now. For a while
I agree with you completely
👍🏻🙏🏻
Sir will atleast flying for the military be a good idea
Well said Alexander - spot about the training rip off and the dumping of talent
what about studying aviation a year from now?
Nice video sir.
De toute façon crise ou pas, c'était déjà la galère. Une bonne partie de ceux qui payent leurs formations ne deviennent jamais pilote ou alors sont obligé passer par le pay to fly.
Absolutely
I’ve started my PPL already :(
👍🏻
Ronan Chabot let’s see
Sir how about aeronautical engineering
The future: third world levels of safety.
Irv Hh ??
There are tons of aviation job. Not only airlines..
True so trueee
I’m only 12... 😥
TheRealHax you have time
Good
Ok
True what you say about aviation, but you are wrong about singers - us musicians are also severely affected by this crisis, and we also try to make a difference to the world, not just show our pretty faces. We have a calling in life to move people, but in a different way to you. Maybe don't comment on things you don't really understand, and stick to aviation.
J’ai pas trop compris vu que je suis français sinon je te soutiens à1000%
😉👍🏻
Pilot to doctor 👍🙏
It isn't 'Gulf' my friend its called 'Persian Gulf' you cant be that bad with geography ur a pilot 😁

No problem man. I was supposed to join a flying school but I'm now reconsidering my decision. There will be brighter days. You can do something for the time being and after this situation is over you can always fly.
arjun shawn diwaker thx bro
How expression !
Bad advice! Investment in yourself is never a bad idea.
