PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Province of Sarangani Tourism Road Infrastructure Projects (TRIP)
The Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) under the DOT-DPWH convergence initiative paved a way in prioritizing tourism road infrastructure in the country. The TRIP projects aims to improve tourism roads to ensure safe and seamless movement of visitors within and across tourism development areas. This is likewise in support of the goals and targets of the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) and the Philippine Tourism Development Plan.
Region XII as one the emerging destination of the country- greatly benefited on the convergence program that leads to the increasing number of tourist arrivals, development of new tourism circuits and improved connectivity with the designated tourism destinations and sites.
TRIP was envisioned to further fuel the growth of economic activities in the tourism development areas in the country to unlock more jobs and income generating opportunities for the locals.
