I still cannot believe this channel doesn't have more subscribers. Even at just over 100k, the video quality and upload schedule puts some content creators with millions of subscribers to shame. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Skill Tree team. Keep on doing what you're doing, and here's to many more #scraps giveaways!

Regarding the dice pouch I have an idea.
Make it little larger and put gromets on the holes so the strap can be inserted and removed easily allowing the leather to lie flat; then the inside can be printed or stamped with a gaming board, nine mans morris, chess or the like and then when you make it back into a pouch you can hold the pieces to make a travel gaming set.

First time TH-cam has thrown this chap at me and my first reaction was that he appears to be having a stroke but much to my surprise this turns out to be both entertaining and inspires a couple of little projects. Glad I found this and will watch some more. Thanks.

I fully understand the concept of not knowing what to do with leather scraps. About 15 years ago I purchased some leather scraps, and by that what I mean is I ended up with 3 yard trash bags filed to the brim with leather scraps of varying sizes. I am talking about 3 ~55 gallon trash bags with scraps ranging from a few square inches all the way up to pieces that were 2 foot by 3 foot and I paid a grand total of 50 silver coins for the lot! For anyone who is not familiar with the conversion rate of silver coins, a 2foot by 3 foot piece of leather would cost around 400-600 silver coins by it self o.O . All that being said, I have done a fair few projects over the years ranging from bags to ropes and I even made myself a leather kilt! I still have nearly 2/3 of one bag left of all the smallest scraps that I have been attempting to find a use for, and I love the book marks! I will certinaly be making one of them, I also had inspiration from the keychain project.

An easy way to step up the quality of your key chain is just to cut the tucked end to match the hardware it is meeting -- so in the case of a key ring, using a round end punch to cut a concave end to the leather piece that is tucked under and butts up against the ring will help it sit flush and allow the ring to move smoothly.

As someone who works with a lot of suede and fur, I've found that the scrap is good for fantasy accents and native American style crafts. A 1" square strip of rabbit fur can be used on dreamcatchers, hair ties, masquerade masks, wizard staffs or magic wands, and even in a key chain

I love scrap crafts. I have bags of leather scrap and fabric scrap, and there are so many things you can make from them. I especially like doing small scale models, and little scraps are perfect for that.
Another useful and potentially profitable item to make from scrap leather is a little carrying case for headphones/ear buds. Keep them safe so you can listen to music on the go.

For my simple coin/dice pouches, I find it very useful to use a simple knot and loop closure (on the end of one string tie a knot onto itself a couple times to gain girth, then tie a simple loop or slip knot to the other string) to easily fasten and remove the pouches to a belt.
If you also put in another set of holes in between your current set you can also easily continue to feed your strap through and create a bag that will stay more securely closed with the added friction that is perfect for coins, though you will not be able to fully open the pouch into a bowl as easily.

#scraps I have a drawer of leather. And a drawer of feathers. I bought some rivets recently to make skirt hikes for the ren fair. Now I have a bunch of new ideas to work on! Thinner leather makes much more sense for the bookmark - thick bookmarks crack the spine. I think I'll make some corner markers, and some of the more traditional "strip" style, but add a feather to the tassel for the fun of it. The triangular piece you held up at the end looks like it'd be perfect for a pennant for a tent pole.

I was so naive I used antique gel dye thinking it was just normal dye that had an antique look. So it came out extremely dark color despite being “medium brown” lol. I like little projects that use #scraps like this because while you might not be able to use your handmade leather sword sheath or full harness of epic leather armor everyday, you can ABSOLUTELY use small projects like these all the time to bring a bit more fantasy flare into your day. Very cool!! I’m late to the party…didn’t show in my feed until today:(.
I really enjoyed this one! Pretty much everything I make is from #scraps!! I piece together small pieces to make pouches and as closures and such. Really dig the journal cover. I make those too; I really like the elastic cord and pre-manufactured books. I sew my own cut pages into my covers. I add a pencil loop like a ferro rod loop on a knife sheath. Really dig your design.
The rings are fun! I make those too! And beard ties (my beard is near Gandalf level). I used to sell at a farmers market and would sit there with my wares and sew on new projects and people could come and watch me work and customize their piece as I’m making it. Fun stuff!!

I am the exact same way about #scraps -- I refuse to throw stuff away if it can be used. I use some of my little pieces to make itsy bitsy books (insides are really easy to make with folded paper scraps and a few stitces + glue). Great channel!!

Ooo, great ideas! I have a few leather #scraps I've picked up, hoping I have something big enough to make the little drawstring pouch. Can never have too many pouches for stashing things!

i made a rawhide lantern and the wind was blowing through some gaps so i used my scrap leather to make a top and bottom strip over the lantern so it looks quite cute now
