As a kid growing up in New England, these were a right of passage. Coming back to school in the Fall with a dirty, smudged, "Nantucket Bracelet", meant your folks could spend money on the Cape or the Islands (Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard). They got to smell after a while, so fam and friends asked you to cut them off. Now we know just take em off in running water, and sink wash them in Downy, then put back on after rinsing.
Love this bracelet!! Just had a thought while looking at the one I made. A mandella/meditation bracelet might be a cool project. Always have it on you....
I notice that you did not add the length of cord used for this item so I will either wast a bit of cord or not enough could you help please as i cant afford to waste it thanks Mick
These are quite easy and fun to make! If you wish to use two colors, cut the total string length in two and melt both colors together, then hide the melted ends under the first snake knot. 27 inches of each color or 54 inches of a single one is plenty for a 7 inch wrist (8 inch bracelet), leaving enough loose at the end to tie the bracelet shut.
Saludos y buenos suerte.
This is not a turk's head knot. This is a braid, with knot and loop closure. See rastaclat for recent styles. Turk's head knots are woven from one strand of rope. That being said, I do like this as it is removable but still looks like a turk's head knot.
the guys got skill....but the his presentation sucks, ive made 2 bracelets by the measurements he gave and both were to small im annoyed but he is good at knotting!
You are a great teacher. Thank you.

This is very nice, and quiete easy. I like your work!
I made this with 2mm leather cord, and it came out great! The only unknown was what length of cord to start with. 60" worked well for me (6" wrist).
