      @wawaguppy7961 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Whoop whoop Chicken Soup Even if I was under the age of fourteen there are people out there who don't see this style of approaching the sort of situations in such manner. And there might be children under the age of fourteen to know much more than what you deem fit for your approving taste.

    • @wawaguppy7961
      @wawaguppy7961 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Whoop whoop Chicken Soup People cope differently with the different situation some go through distrusting as if they have no complete privacy in their lives while others deem it to be totally fine as it is in orderly conduct behavior in their household. By the way, I never gave you my age so stop with your unreasonable judgments.

    Why was she upset at her daughter for wanting to keep her friend's embarrassing pictures private?? Do they want other kids to make fun of her and her friends? Then, they asked her if she's done anything inappropriate, like she hasn't already clarified that she hasn't. She even saw her private images app. Not to mention, ASKED HER IF SHE WANTED TO SEE HER INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS.

    I’m only 13 right now, but I’m going to keep in the back of my mind that if I ever have kids, then I won’t go through their stuff like this and let them have their privacy. If I trust that I raised them correctly, then there’s no need to worry that they’ll be doing bad things.
    I feel like these parents are making their kids not feel trusted and will cause them to hide things even more.

    Teens really deserve some privacy.
    My mom doesn’t go through my texts and stuff like that, but she has some things that help keep me safe.
    My mom has this thing installed on me and all my sibling’s devices called bark.
    It lets us have privacy, but alerts my mom if we get or send any inappropriate text messages or view anything she doesn’t allow. It helps us have our privacy, and let’s my mom be a little more comfortable letting us do more on our devices as long as she knows we are mature enough

I'm 19 and to this day respond the same way every time someone asks to see my phone. I flinch and question why. Some teens have secrets that aren't necessarily just sending inappropriate pictures or texts, they're deeply personal conversations about mental health, friendships, etc.

I wasn't even aloud to chat with family before asking them. I took my phone everywhere and completely hid everything. I deleted all my history of anything non-educational. I didn't even talk about the phone with them. It was really embarrassing personally because they would do a phone check in the middle of a public place. And when I ask if they trust me they say "Of course we do, we just want to protect you".

    I feel bad for people who have their parents looking through their phone all the time. My parents have not once gone through my phone, since they have no reason to believe I'm doing anything bad. How about instead of looking through peoples phones you educate you children. The only time I can see it being appropriate to look through someone's phone, is if you know that they've been doing some bad stuff and you need to keep tabs on it, if you have no reason to believe that, there's no reason to look through their phone. And if you don't trust your children why did you get them a smart phone in the first place? You should make sure your children are smart enough to have a smartphone before buying them one...

    Violate a kids privacy and they’ll just hide more and trust you less.
    Like if you say ‘I’m gonna go through your phone’ for the first time. They’ll just hide everything. And if you have always gone through their phone they will already be brilliant at hiding things.

    Instead of all this “struggle” to find out what their kids are doing, how about they actually involve them self with their kids and earn trust so you don’t have to invade their privacy.
    Like to see the kids go through their parents phones. If you want your kids to be safe and mature online then bring them up that way. Don’t act as if you’re attached to their hip, butting into everything they’re doing.

      Mia B that is true and what I’m trying to say is my parents trust me enough to never feel like they need to invade my privacy. And I trust them enough to not go and invade my privacy especially since they don’t even force me to tell them my password to things including the one for access to my phone.
      Also kids live under the home of their guardians and if they aren’t paying the bills for everything on their phone, I feel like the adult should be able to check a kids phone if they have evidence that they could be doing something on the phone that could harm them.
