Ich war letzte Woche drei Mal in Rebecca und hab dreimal Annemieke als Mrs. Danvers gesehen. Absolut traumhaft! Das Video wird ihr nicht gerecht, live ist es noch soooo viel besser. Bei allen drei Vorstellungen gab es nach der 2. Reprise Applaus, was ich so noch nie mitbekommen habe, allerdings absolut verdient. Einfach fantastisch!
Mich persönlich hat Annemiekes Darstellung der Mrs. Danvers extrem berührt & ich finde es echt bewundernswert, wie emotional sie das ganze spielt. Ich kann es gar nicht richtig in Worte fassen. Ich finde sie unterscheidet sich gewaltig von den meisten anderen Mrs. Danvers Darstellerinnen! Ich hab sie jetzt fast schon 10 mal als Danny gesehen und bin noch immer schwerst begeistert! Abgesehen davon hat sie auch einfach soooo eine schöne Stimme.
Diese Aufnahme wird Annemieke nicht gerecht. Sie ist so so gut. Und nach der Sommerpause ist sie nochmal besser geworden. Schaut euch die Rebecca Reprise vom Sicherheitsfest an. Ihre Mrs Danvers ist so emotional und einzigartig. Wir sollten endlich aufhören Darstellerinnen zu vergleichen.
I’ve seen Annemieke play Mrs. Danvers for the 1st time in October 2022 due to the fact that Willemijn had been sick on that day and I couldn’t be more grateful that I’ve seen her play that role! She was as amazing as always and portrays (for me) simply the best version of Mrs. Danvers. The emotion she awakes while singing is insane. She’ll forever be my favorite musical actress.💜🔥

Also, i notice she sings the wrong lyrics towards the end LMAO she sings " Aus dem Schattenreich zurück nach Manderley" instead of "Aus dem Nebelreich zurück nach Manderley"
Strangely enough in all the other "Rebecca"-songs of Act 1 and 2 the line is "...aus dem NEBELREICH zurück...", but only at the end of Act 1 it is "...aus dem SCHATTENREICH zurück..." But the "mistake" here is not that big - the meaning of both is something mysterious ('kingdom of the fog' and 'kingdom of the shadows').

@@stagedoor73-tx3pu it really comes down to which scenes are diegetic. The end of act one has Mrs Danvers internally singing to herself. So “shadow world” is more ominous and ties in with her agenda to ruin the new Mrs de winter whilst also hinting that Rebecca is now a ghost (also works well of her being unhinged). The word fog foreshadows more of the next series of events in act 2 and a reminder to “I” of Rebecca’s last whereabouts.

I LOVE how Annemieke plays with dynamics during the first half of the song. She really makes the role her own ❤
