I had the pleasure of watching Jacksonville perform on October the 6th when my grandson was there competing in BOA. I was blown away by their performance. I had never seen anything like it. I’m new to marching band with my grandson being a high school freshman but I am sure JSU band is one of the best in the nation.
It sure was an experience competing there. Kinda sad that my band didn’t place. We tried our hardest and had a blast that’s all that matters! Maybe we’ll rock the diamond class and beat Rome next year!
Madison set the standard for Malaguena.....and usually when it is covered by some other band, the tempo seems to drag, but not here. Great job on the entire show.
Stupid question: Do they compete? Like, high school marching band compete? (just thought of that because of the "Contest of Champions" in the title, sounds like a competition). I just finished my freshman year in college and got used to performing a new half time show every home game. Also, I feel like I just watched a Bands of America band or a freaking drum corps (BOA bands are freaking amazing AF in my opinion so please don't come at me, I met that as a compliment lol).

This is a Competition we put on for Highschools around the area.
College bands don't compete.
