After school, I spent hours staring at it. unfortunately, I had the SNES Japanese version, and at the time the turbo version that had boss playable hadn't yet been released on the SNES all regions. I wanted so bad the sega genesis II to plays street fighter II with bosses , but I never got the money.

Shoryuken is very easy to punish on ultra street fighter four. Predict when your opponent uses shoryuken, block, and then punish with a quick combo. It's pretty easy. If you are not advanced, block a shoryuken, and punish with a sweep.
The best shoryuken is the one in SF2: Turbo Hyper Fighting. It links perfectly with every button except the HK/Roundhouse button. Plus all variations are invincible. Sure flame is flashy...but not if every variation is only invincible in Marvel games.
I will always have trouble believing that the name of the move has nothing to do with the fact that the 2 characters this move is most associated with, Ryu and Ken, their names are in the name of the move. Shoryuken. Ryu. Ken. The idea that that's coincidental will always be hard for me to believe.
