I love this segment....as a new student abroad ...it's just making me rethink life and what's the purpose.. ..i want to go back home but i know there is really nothing there for me , nobody talks about having to live without ur people and ur community ..and the few african friends u have are not from the same country and are just 'situational friendships '...i miss my people and i cannot go back, life abroad is so glamourized ...but ur mental health just deteroriates so badly and i should be fine ? No i'm not fine because y am i studying medicine abroad ...i can't go home during school breaks and have to work like 2 jobs on top of my studies.I am black in a dominantly white community and the fact that i didn't grow up here as a black person...means my experience is differnet from everyone elses i am so tired and confused in life all whilst being 17 .i really feel like quiting, but ty for this story it makes me feel seen and that i am not struggling alone 🤍

For those wondering: there's at least 3 levels of "housing" in the US. Homelessness is the easiest you just given up, if looking for job you'll need documents and a "permanent address" and that's where the homeless shelter comes in, they can verify you have a residence, and then you graduate to ghetto housing or find yourself in NYC. Life not easy in USA, don't expect red carpet, milk and honey. Visa, greencard is just a basic requirement to get a job at a burger joint.

Mkurugenzi I need a favor. There's a story you've never told us. It is the story about Kyanguli fire tragedy that claimed lives of over 60 students in the year 2001 in Kenya 🇰🇪. I don't know if the story falls under young & stupid or headline hitters. Kindly do for us an in depth story of this school tragedy. At least local content
