    the average people could never afford to get their clocks fixed. That's why they hold onto them. Hoping for a miracle. This show is a miracle for the rest of us.

    Can Steve get it work again?
    Naturally... this man is great, just as much as this TV program I discovered a few months ago only from where I live (Brussels).
    This show doesn't last long enough in my opinion. It became a must see (wednesday evening I watch the BBC).
    The concept is fantastic, and these people who come with their old objects with stories behind, are often very moving.
    Bravo to BBC!

    There is a LOT of DUST in that shop to be working on a clock of any age.

    The Repair Shop is my only "must watch" show on TV at the moment and the only programme I watch on the BBC. They should have won the BAFTA!

    People say a broken clock is better than a clock running fast because the broken clock is correct twice a day, but the fast clock is never correct.
    When the broken clock is correct, you won't know it without a second clock, rendering the broken clock useless and you should just use the second clock. If you know to always subtract 5 minutes from the fast clock, you can just use the fast clock. A fast running clock is better than a broken clock.

    I love the show. It's a great idea and I love watching the professionals doing their thing. As a hobby wood turner I am fascinated how things progress from one stage to another. It would be great to follow something on TH-cam that wasn't in the TV show, from start to finish rather than a teaser as it seems to be now. I watch the show and here on TH-cam.

    I used to watch this program when I lived in Scotland. It always amazed me how they managed to repair what you thought was unrepairable.
    Thanks for showing these videos. Regards from Argentina.👍👍👍

    My grandfather repaired clocks. There were over 300 clocks in their house. I don't think he ever had one this old in his shop, but I do remember some that were so old they had wooden gears.

      @David-lb4te 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting life of your grandfather. This clock is not what it seems; the case is probably old, but with a minute hand, long pendulum, anchor escapement, it is essentially a modern clock. I have a lantern clock from 1675; hour hand only, verge escapement, short pendulum, 30 hr movement, single weight driving clock and chime.

      @@David-lb4te they explain in the beginning that the clock has been updated over time. They never claim that every piece of the clock is 400 years old.

    HI, Steve, We watch the programs all the time and wondered if you could spare a nut for our grandmother clock, I have tried over and over to find such a thing, with no joy, seeing sometimes on TV you look into your boxes of all sorts, as said we look forward to the program every day. your skill like all the team is unbelievable. Thank you, rocket 744

    I have just purchased my first long case clock ... i love it, it is a 30 hour with one weight, i have managed to regulate it to the correct time, however the chain keeps getting caught up every now and again and then drops into place with a slight bang, what is causing this...? are the chain links to big..? Any help would be really appreciated.
