As a Syrian refugee in Europe due to the Assad regime, I am shocked by the sudden change in attitude of some Westerners who have started to support Bashar al-Assad on social media, despite the fact that he is the primary cause of the refugee crisis that has affected 14 million Syrians in Europe and the Western world. This crisis has fueled the racism we face in Europe, especially with the rise of far-right parties exploiting the refugee issue for political gains. On the other hand, these same Westerners attack Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, the only person who opened the path for us to return to Syria and offered a real solution to the refugee problem in Europe and the West. They justify their attacks with concerns that he could become a new dictator, or even worse than Assad. This claim exposes their double standards: how can they support Assad, who caused catastrophic suffering for his people and created the refugee crisis, yet criticize al-Jolani, who liberated areas from the tyranny of the Russian, Iranian, and Assad forces? Al-Jolani has worked to manage these areas with respect for diversity, including appointing the first Christian governor in the first city liberated by Muslims in Aleppo, and rescuing thousands of political detainees. We Syrians are exhausted from war, dictatorships, and oppression. Sunnis make up 90% of the Syrian population, and it is their right to have a state that reflects their identity while respecting everyone. For me, the dream of returning to my homeland has become possible thanks to al-Jolani, and I am eagerly waiting for Syrian airports to open so I can return on the first available flight. In the end, I hope the West will lift its hand from Syria and leave the decision to the Syrian people. We alone should decide our fate, and we want leadership that comes from our own people. We support al-Jolani because we know it is impossible for anyone to be worse than Bashar al-Assad, who has killed millions, detained hundreds of thousands, and destroyed our country. The decision is ours, and as Syrians, we are happy to support the one who has paved the way for us to reclaim our freedom and dignity.
Well said, I fully agree with you! As a Syrian you know what’s best for you, your compatriots and your country. Outsiders should not interfere with your life and country

How 14 million Syrians dispersed around the world could come back together in a wrecked country whose entire infrastructure is being bombed down by Isreal every day, and in whose future fundamental islamists are a real possibility, is beyond me. I only hope that those that you think are your saviors will not cause even more blood shed and displacement of everyone but those that do not subscribe to their brand of Sunni Islam.

Assad is different he came from his father's blood and root of his dictatorship and evilness.. So Bashar Assad do the same... Be happy jolani freed Syria from Assad family... He freed the prisoners.. Help him to build Syria..
Bashar Al Assad was young, clean and have a western style education. Who could've see what happened next Maybe he should just remain a doctor back then. For Julani then we have examples of his governing style and it's definitely different than the one under the Assad Family.
It's a dictatorship which happened to be relatively secular..there's no such thing as a secular dictatorship - it is but a conflation. They're two different things. What's next, the vegetarian Nazi fascists?
Hundreds tortured to death by Joulani’s boys, but we must remember to focus on Assad’s torturers more, right? Assad was deposed because he rejected the West. Others in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, whose crimes are identical to Assad’s or worse, are ignored.

So we should watch him VERY closely. Hopefully Insha-Allah if he keeps his word things will go. That’s all we can do for the time being; hope that he won’t break his word and become someone worse than Assad.

Netanyahu is the one stealing land and killing Palestinians. Netanyahu actually killed more people than Assad, the Hama Massacre by Hafez in the 1980s was estimated to be 45,000 people while Netanyahu murdered 60,000 plus Palestinian children alone using US donated weapons, tanks and jets.
I have faith in Jolani that he will do right by the Syrian people. I just hope Russia, Iran, Turkey and the US leave them in peace to rebuild and heal. The Syrian people have been through enough. They deserve peace.

(Quran 3:54) "And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers." The Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which literally means 'deceit'. If Allah is supremely deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same. (See also 8:30 and 10:21) ...hope will you understand
Makar means to plot, I don't see the issue with this verse, the disbelievers plot, and God plots against them, and God is better at plotting then them, what's the issue? Nothing
The verse is basically saying god knows everything that will happen in the future it’s his wisdom he doesn’t deceit anyone except for those who deceit themselves. Learn the meaning before commenting something so stupid. How can god be deceitful when he knows everything? That are in the past present and future. And it’s basically saying you can plan all you want but it is god who has decided everything before the creation of time. So you aren’t a better planner or plotter than the master who knows everything. Decitful who be if he didn’t know and he was misguiding you but go doesn’t misguide anyone except themselves he has given you free will too chose plot all you want but at the end it is god who you and I have to answer too.
They consider everyone else to be infidels, and their creator gives them the right to hurt us because they are nothing, and they are true believers..so much for their achievements..In Syria, Christians are already forbidden to gather..

With Western leaders it's a hate love relationship with Jolani. He defeated Assad, who was a long term ally with Russia, Iran and Hezbollah but at the same time he's had a dodgy past to say the least. If he's reformed then it'll be better for both Western, Muslim and Syrian interests. Only time will tell.
No Automatic Jurisdiction: For the ICC to have jurisdiction over a non-signatory state like Syria, it needs either a referral by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) or for the state itself to accept the court’s jurisdiction.
Syria, which is not a major oil producer, has endured severe economic damage over the course of a nearly 15-year civil war. It will be interesting to see what a Trump Administration will pursue in terms of a policy for the region. The USA won't be led by typical leadership with a volatile president incoming.
I wish the Syrian people well but I fear they are just switching from a secular tyrant, the Assad government to a theocratic authoritarian tyrant similar to what happened to Iran when they disposed of the Shah for the Ayatollah.
I'm very glad the monster Assad is gone, but I can't say how I feel about this new leadership. I just hope that in the end these people are free from the suffering. However, I think that for that to happen globally religious extremism needs to go (that doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to practice dogmatically, so long as it does not promote oppression or violence towards others).
I’m tired of the connotation behind the word jihad or jihadism. As an American Muslim revert I’d like to clear the air on it a little to the best of my knowledge and opinion. Jihad simply means any war a Muslim has against a non Muslim. We’re not as Muslims openly seeking jihad at all, jihad is supposed to be a means to preserve our religion whether it be a Muslim country or group or whatever. The attacks on 9/11 were horrific and terrible and non excusable. While technically they’re considered jihad they’re really not at the same time, our prophet Muhammad Peace and blessings be upon and Allah (god) himself instructed us to never harm women ,children, elderly, crippled, lame, and many other rules. Islam is NOT an enemy to the world or the US certain groups of extremists are. We can’t control extremists🤷🏽♂️ most skinheads are Christian but Christians wouldn’t claim them
I’m coming from a western atheist background. But what I do see is that Islam can be peaceful. I think it’s the Middle East as a region that is prone to war. Islam is just the religion that happens to be there. There are Islamic nations around the world that are peaceful. If those Middle Eastern nations were Christian, I’m sure it would be the same - fighting about land ownership, resources and religion.
@tetsu3117 There will always be conflict tied to the Holy Land. Iraq funnily enough is also the birthplace of civilisation, the first cities built there.
At this rate, in five years time we will have President Ahmad al-Shar’a seeking reelection and appealing to the liberal and secular vote with a message of “I’ve been keeping the Islamists at bay” 😂😂
He used to be a terrorist. Until he put his words into action, real freedom loving syrians should be vigilant. Red flag is the implemtation of sharia law.

Seems he is doing great and also seems a man loved by majority of his nation. The freedom in Syria is fragile. I hope Iran or Israel does not ruin it.

I just hope and pray that this man, Abu Al-Jolani won't repeat the terror that the past dictator leaders have done to syrian people ,or even become worst than them.May God forbid.
So,i hope they will come up with the decision to have the elections,to change ladership every 5 to 6 years.
I am from Philippines, and my heart goes out to all our syrian brothers and sisters. Our condolences and sympathy for the family of the deceased ,who are deeply in grief. We also have syrian brothers and sisters who seeks refuge in our poor and humble yet welcoming country, they are beautiful ,helpful and caring people, one of whom are Basil and his family,He is a famos vlogger ,whose channel is @Hungry Syrian #HungrySyrian ,I cried a lot after learning and watching the news of what really had happened to sayednaya prison,so humbled and touched after hearing the story of Mazen Al Hamada,he is such a hero.
May God bless Syria and it's people.
Salute to all people who persevere and fight lawfully, salute also to their heroes whose lives were the price to pay.
Congratulations to your newfound liberty and freedom.the road to a full democracy ahead.
Damascus ,in the Gospel of the Sacred Scripture,is the place where St Paul(previously called Saul) were heeding to persecute the Christians, but on his way there,he met and encounter OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
And after that encounter ,St Paul, have had his conversion, and began preaching the good news of Salvation.
My prayers for syria and it's people, that ,just like St Paul,as they now journey towards liberty and freedom, they also get to encounter OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST and welcome Him in their hearts🙏🙏🙏.
May God the Father,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit bless you Syria and the people abundantly🙏🙏🙏.
May Our blessed Mother ,Mama Mary, shield and protect you all with her Motherly love ,care ,protection and compassion.
Very interesting!
They just change the regime from secular dictatorship, to religious dictatorship. When Assad rose to power, people were cheering on him and rejoice too.
Who could've see what happened next
Maybe he should just remain a doctor back then.
For Julani then we have examples of his governing style and it's definitely different than the one under the Assad Family.
free prisoners ? does your country not have any prison? you should free prisoners in your country too. @@berryjhoyce4014
lol no one was cheering assad be quiet
It's a dictatorship which happened to be relatively secular..there's no such thing as a secular dictatorship - it is but a conflation. They're two different things. What's next, the vegetarian Nazi fascists?
Hundreds tortured to death by Joulani’s boys, but we must remember to focus on Assad’s torturers more, right?
Assad was deposed because he rejected the West. Others in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, whose crimes are identical to Assad’s or worse, are ignored.
Don't you see many vlogs by western people showing how happy & peaceful people living in Saudi Arabia. You just ignorant, swallow all western propaganda.
The clowns cheering in the comments will stare at you with blank vacant expression when you tell them this. They don’t understand these kind of horrific human rights abuses are part and parcel for the Middle East unfortunately. I dread to think what goes on in Saudi Arabia under the radar even if things are economically are pretty great there.
Exactly.
Well said
Well, he doesn’t look like a terrorist at all 🙄
#KeepCrying 😭😭😭
He's missing a MAGA hat

It seems it is going to be like Iran.
Hopefully the religion of peace will work out and the region can live happily ever after.
There is no more happiness or peace..Extreme Islamists rule..Interests of America, Israel, Turkey intersect..
You cannot be peaceful towards kufr.
Say what you want about him he wants people to view him as a moderate and more western aligned. Many people are rightfully skeptical of his true views but it’s a fact that he wants the outside world to see more as less moderate.
I don't understand how their can be "War crimes".
War should be a "crime".
Masha'Allah, Allahuakbar. May Allah swt bless all Syrians People's, A'amiin.
They are terrorist not rebel, stop misinforming the public.
People can change... Jolani went through a lot and I am sure re-building Syria is his number one goal
He & all his friends are beheader! They have had too many innocent people's blood on their hands ! They all liars including those media...
Jolani is a seerial killer and mass murderer. A head chopper. Please wake up.
As a Muslim myself, I’m hoping Jolani has changed for the better. Despite his dark past has jihadi, I’m willing to give him a chance and see how he’ll handle the situation in Syria. Of course, this doesn’t mean we should trust him right away. Its like he said in the interview:
“Don’t judge a man by his words, but by his actions.”
I as well as everyone should judge his actions throughout his and his HTS forces’ time in Syria. So we should watch him VERY closely. Hopefully Insha-Allah if he keeps his word things will go. That’s all we can do for the time being; hope that he won’t break his word and become someone worse than Assad.
'Cautionary Optimism' should be the proper attitude for Syria as its moving forward.🥱
If HTS leaders are using smartphones, Israel and US know exactly what they are going to do. They should use pagers instead
Not this and not this
Lol
Israel will get them either way.
Israel gave them the smartphones.
😂😂😂
No mention the main reason is Israel wiped out Hezbollah and Hamas which gave the signal to these terrorists to move in.
That's why many People join rebel things because of what happened to the lives of thier fellow citizens..wars and hardships..they just wants to live in Peace.
Jolani wants the Jolani Heights Back
Yes every Syrian does it is Syrian territory
I sure hope this all works out.
He’s not a rebel leader. Look at his past lol
Once things are set, he is coming for the Golan Heights
George Washington murdered people but has statues all over.
Trump ordered insurrection Maga Terrorists to kill people at Capitol Hill and now he's so called "president" in 2025.
Jolani is a good man, I believe in him because I'm not bigoted and two dimensional.
Golan height is internationally recognised as syrian territory
Nah...He is a puppet of the West, he is gonna let the Israelis roll in...like he is doing now
US went from offering $10 million to catch this guy to now cheering for him....
Who wants to bet that this guy will attempt to establish another Damascus caliphate like the Umayyad Caliphate?
FINALLY someone say OUTLOUD what WE ALL KNOW , but many do not want to see
It Shall Get Worse
First wise comment I have read on this video. Smart guy. I agree.
That’s your wishful thinking
Everyone can prosper in peace even in diversity. Look at Malaysia , be united, Syrians n May Allah swt guide the people n leaders towards success.
I have faith in Jolani that he will do right by the Syrian people. I just hope Russia, Iran, Turkey and the US leave them in peace to rebuild and heal. The Syrian people have been through enough. They deserve peace.
As a Muslim myself, I’m hoping Jolani has changed for the better. Despite his dark past has jihadi, I’m willing to give him a chance and see how he’ll handle the situation in Syria. Of course, this doesn’t mean we should trust him right away. Its like he said in the interview:

@ I’m cautiously optimistic. We don’t want to see another Libya or Afghanistan. We can only be hopeful. Inshallah 🤲🏾
Someone selected him
Under the 🇹🇷Ankara Sultan cloak.
Hopefully 🇸🇾 will now start to rebuild itself, yet with all the different rebel groups: either will become a dictatorship or a week corrupt state. I hope that Syria will choose rebuilding itself.

Would this be the new Malcom X after his journey to Mecca?
Malcolm X 😂😂🤡
(Quran 3:54) "And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers." The Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which literally means 'deceit'. If Allah is supremely deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same. (See also 8:30 and 10:21)
...hope will you understand
True..

One evil replaced the other. Nothing More.
rebels with heavy artillery, multiple grad & rocket launchers, drones, NVG, tanks, APCs & technicals. Quite the well armed & funded group….
No Automatic Jurisdiction: For the ICC to have jurisdiction over a non-signatory state like Syria, it needs either a referral by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) or for the state itself to accept the court’s jurisdiction.
He looks like a good guy. I can tell from the face. He has a good guy face
He is ex AL Qaeda and ex ISIS. He is a serial killer, a head chopper. He is drenched in blood. How does Ted Bundy look to you? Handsome?
Western press its a joke.
No. It's a propaganda machine.
We love our brother's
The deal was US gets syria oils and russia gets Ukraine donbass. It was a negotiated exchange.
Syria, which is not a major oil producer, has endured severe economic damage over the course of a nearly 15-year civil war. It will be interesting to see what a Trump Administration will pursue in terms of a policy for the region. The USA won't be led by typical leadership with a volatile president incoming.
The US doesn't need oil from Syria or any addl countries.
Syria doesn't have alot of oil, at least not enough to start a war over, unlike iraq
Assad and his henchmen must be brought to justice.
Fool
al-Jolani is my buddy. He's a cool guy!
Does a leopard change its spots?😅
I wish the Syrian people well but I fear they are just switching from a secular tyrant, the Assad government to a theocratic authoritarian tyrant similar to what happened to Iran when they disposed of the Shah for the Ayatollah.
Wait till he feel he is king of his crown
He will either be a patsy for western interests, or one of the greatest statesmen of the 21st century.
Israel defeated Hisbollah, only then Al Jolani could defeat Assad, thanks to Israel.
Does anyone else see the sheet thin mask he wears to appear a good guy? 😢
He is like a Syrian George Washington on that side of the world.
Arab Spring: a creation of the US
maybe syrians don't want to be ruled by a kafr
We can’t control extremists🤷🏽♂️ most skinheads are Christian but Christians wouldn’t claim them
This is why I'm an Atheist, too much pain has been caused by the multitude of religions that God if he did exist would never accept it.
I don't know why they call him rebel
I do.
He used to be a terrorist. Until he put his words into action, real freedom loving syrians should be vigilant. Red flag is the implemtation of sharia law.
the Million dollar question is - WHO FUNDED JOLANI'S FORCES, WHERE THEIR FIREARMS AND AMMUNITIONS COME FROM?
Turkey are the biggest funders of Jolani 🇹🇷
His all over the place , who is he really , Allah knows best
I don't trust him at all, because the whole media are doing these fluff pieces on him with the same talking points
Why do you call Jolani a "terrorist" in your thumbnail but claim that Trump's thugs who attacked the Capitol are "insurrectionists".
Jolani is the leader of the Syrian Rebels.
He is a puppet of the West, this is a huge win for Israel.
"rebel"
