The best places to visit in this region are Quedlinburg and Wernigerode. Quedlinburg is the greatest area Monument with over 2000 timbered Houses, the most in Germany. There are 4 Fortress towers to save the City in the middle age and many Churches (i think 7 Churches). You can visit all of them. The first Kaiser of Germany (Kaiser = King of the kings) would found in Quedlinburg. You can visit his palace and so many ather places in Quedlinburg.
