Very cool to see how grateful girl was to get her ring back. For me , being offered some type of a reward for finding it is just a show of appreciation on her part. I know some people feel like it’s wrong for us detectorist to expect that but i feel they are wrong for making us feel bad for receiving or expecting a small reward. It’s not like we owe anyone to go out and find things they lost. On that note , i am happy to give someone back anything with a name on it or do a recovery like Dan did today. I’ve seen dudes find very VERY expensive jewelry and return it with zero appreciation and yes I’m talking monetary reward. An offer at least should be in order !!!! Leave it up to us to accept or not. Know that we are NOT obligated to return anything we find. We do it because we are kind people, show the same in return !!! Thanks for the shoutout, Daniel! And another great find-return for you. Beach karma got you what I think is a silver French colonial coin. Lady Liberty is French. And they used "Piastre" (like we use '$') in their colonies. Maybe the coin is French Indo-China (Vietnam). 😀
I don’t think it’s silver but I could be wrong. I put it in CLR to get the crust off of it and it exposed some copper. At least I think it’s copper 🤷♂️

If coin is genuine it is 90pc silver; it says so on coin... .900 poids. But there are contemporary fakes so it should be 100 yrs old either way. It is French Indo-China (modern Thailand-Vietnam) and the denomination is one piastre (100 centimes).

It’s a 1912 “1 Piastre” from French Indochina. Definitely super random to find in my area. No snow for me, just lots of rain and wind. 🤙🤙

@@MontereyMagnetMan it was basically a French colonial Vietnamese coin. Does it say 27 grams on it? The 0900 refers to silver percentage.
