Some of these bands are not Post Grunge Eve Splum Hole Varuca Salt Tracy Bonham Presidents Of The United States The Posies Third Eye Blind Stroke 9 Semisonic Better Than Ezra Meat Puppets The Offspring (just why, what next fucking Green Day) Foo Fighters Everclear Soul Asylum Toadies Dinosaur Jr Letters To Cleo Sponge Nada Surf Don’t know what you would call these bands but they are NOT Post Grunge or even Grunge for that matter. And Stone Temple Pilots count as original Grunge Post Grunge is that Butt Rock yarly sound of bands like Nickelback, Creed, Puddle Of Mudd etc etc.
Yeah, Blind Melon and Candlebox are not post-grunge either, Candlebox were in the Seattle scene going back to the beginning, Kevin Martin was friends with Andrew Wood and wrote Far Behind as a tribute to him for crying out loud. lol
@@nu-metalfan2654Nope, they were from Seattle and were lyrically and musically indistinguishable from the earlier scene. Candlebox is about as post-grunge as Mother Love Bone was. 🙄 P.S. - I don’t think STP ever considered themselves grunge and we’re as violently disowned by the Nirvana crowd as Candlebox was.
@@hellsunicorn Well Candlebox’s first album came out in 1993, but they have more in common with the bands that would come out just 1 year later with Silverchair and Bush in 1994. Candlebox and Collective Soul were the two original Post Grunge bands, those two started it. Also Mother Love Bone were never Grunge, they were a Hair band, they sounded closer to Guns N Roses and Bon Jovi than Grunge. Soundgarden started the Grunge scene and sound.
