I know that India and China are so close to a war right now but this can't stop me appreciating what DJI has achieved and how they've helped farmers with done tech. Their work is inspiring a new generation of drone pilots like me. Thank you DJI and I hope our governments can find a solution to our border contentions and avoid a war. I am also a fan and user of Xiro drones, I hope that company can be big someday and compete with DJI in China.

probably half a year. farmers in some areas of china are making pretty decent livings. The region shown in the video is Hainan, think of it as China's Mallorca or Florida, the land price there is crazy. some of those farmers may be low key millionaires from their land sales. plus, the people flying the drones are contractors, they are for hire pesticide spraying companies. they charge per area. so the actual cost to the farmers are not that high.
If everybody thought that way, your comment would perhaps not be here as you would not have had access to the technology required to connect to the internet and write a commentary. Keep in mind that unskilled jobs will soon be replaced like many have been in the past. People have to move on and find new ways to demonstrate the need for their labour.

I was studying agriculture just last year here in Australia, and looking at the huge tyre ruts left by a tractor pulling spraying machinery. I thought at the time something should be done with low-speed aircraft, using the same very concentrated (low volume) formulations used by cropduster aeroplanes, but with the accuracy of a drone - and here you are. The tractor should go in the paddock when the ground is hard and dry, at planting and harvesting, but everything between while the ground is wet and soft and the crop is growing, those should be done with these drones. Have you considered adding cameras to analyse light patterns coming from the crop, to identify and spot-spray weed and disease outbreaks? There's no need to spray poisons over the whole crop when there's just a few patches affected, but these problems have to be identified and dealt with before they spread.
Super cool but unless they can make a drone that takes 1000L to 3000L I am not impressed the new self driving tractors are more impressive because they can run those big sprayers

FYI guys; According to their numbers you would get about 1 - 1.5 acres spraying ( about 1/2 hectare ) per flight (10 - 15 minute battery life. ). Then you'd have to recharge or switch out the batteries and refill the tank. So you'd need lots of extra batteries. The drone goes for about $4,600 on ebay. IDK if a person could build one cheaper maybe?
