You are an amazing teacher! I was able to crochet my first anchor successfully because of your amazing teaching! Not too mention, you’re just so cheerful and an absolute pleasure to watch!
Thank you soooooooo much! I made a queen size crochet blanket for a very dear friend for her 79th Birthday this coming week! She was an English teacher at a high school for many years. Her schools logo was an anchor and I've been stressing myself MAD trying to do this via many sites. It took me an hour and 2 failed attempts but now I have it!!!! Thank you so VERY much for teaching an old dog a new trick!
Hi ! Just made the anchor to put on square for baby blanket. Navy family and this is my greatgrandchild coming. Husband says the bottom is called the fluke. I have learned so much from you . This 65 year old grandma took up crochet again after 30 years. All I knew how to do before was the rectangle granny square never ending to make blankets etc. No videos back then ha ha. Thank goodness for you ! You are clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much !!!!
Hello from North Devon UK, I do live by the sea and this is a super anchor, I have just made it and am now sewing it to a baby boy romper which I crocheted this morning :) thank you so much for a simple and easy to follow video. BTW you have an infectious giggle :-)
so needed this as I made a, what turned out to look like a nautical themed doll dress, blue and white mostly...thanks so much, I am so happy I found this, thanks again Jayda!!
it gave me a great idea for a Christmas gift for my boyfriend's father, he was in the NAVY. i think i will make 4 of them and stitch them together in the shape of a square and sew it to a solid square.
Hi! I had never crocheted anything before in my life, but thanks to you and this video I managed to do this anchor for my girlfriend who is a sea captain, as a christmas present! Thank you so much for this great video /Niklas in Sweden!
Jayda InStitches how would I make this into a larger size? I'm making a queen sizr afghan and want to put either 1 large anchor on it or a few medium size. thanks in advance for any tips.
love this video. helpes me with a gift for one of my friends. but i got into the habit of crocheting on the back loops so i tired it and it still looks amazing
Soo cute!!! I absolutely love it!!! I am a 11 and I have been following you're TH-cam channel for awhile this year, and you're my favorite crochet you tuber!!
I love you I love you, you are amazingly wonderful. I love your personality, You inspire me to do better in crochet. Thank you so much for your effort.
Is there a pattern so I can follow along so I can keep track? Crocheting is still all new to me. Today, I did crochet anchor but would love to make more.
+Tracey Harris Hi Tracey, I'm not sure what you mean by connecting your four corners on a granny? I have a granny square tutorial, if you haven't had a chance to check it out, you might find it to be helpful (it's on the channel homepage, just click on my name and you should find it there :)
Jayda you can make those baskets with a nautical theme For memorial day and 4th of July to And you can put the anchor ⚓ on the baskets with shells What size hooks and is a 4. 25 mm A g hook
Hi Susan, you could absolutely add this applique to baskets (blankets, bags, etc). You should use the same fiber as the project it will be attached to (if it's an acrylic basket, use acrylic for the applique etc.) but the hook can be the same one used in this tutorial, just so the stitches are nice and small.
can you do a whale? oy, there are patterns I could buy, but I'm not a pro at reading patterns 😔 yet. fabulous anchor and easy to follow! very much appreciate it.
Hi Summer, we haven't got a whale pattern, but we do have a tutorial up on a cute little Narwhal, you might want to give her a try :) You'll find that tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/vvKseXd09u4/w-d-xo.html
I am not sure about the top part, but the bottom 2 'hooks' are similar to what are called "barbs". Like the shape of an arrow's tip. Barbs are meant that the arrow is difficult to remove.
+Cynthia Clark Hi Cynthia, if you want a challenge, you can try this exact pattern using a size 1 or 2 crochet thread and a size 2.00 mm hook. You'll get a much smaller anchor which you can still use as an applique!
+Lacey Martin Hi Lacey! If you have crochet thread or embroidery floss and a size 2.00 mm hook (or one that's a little smaller - I'm talking steel hooks here) then you can use this exact pattern...just pack your patience, because working tiny can be trying! :) Have fun!
+Tonia Hart Hi Tonia, this anchor winds up being about 8 cm tall, but if you want it to be smaller, use thinner yarn and a smaller hook, like a 3.00 mm :)
You are an amazing teacher! I was able to crochet my first anchor successfully because of your amazing teaching! Not too mention, you’re just so cheerful and an absolute pleasure to watch!

Hello! Jayda... I'm having a little problem with doing a slip stitch and connecting me four corners on a granny square. can you do a video on that.
+Tracey Harris Hi Tracey, I'm not sure what you mean by connecting your four corners on a granny? I have a granny square tutorial, if you haven't had a chance to check it out, you might find it to be helpful (it's on the channel homepage, just click on my name and you should find it there :)
Hi Jayda, I love your anchor pattern. By any chance do you offer a written pattern for this? Thanks!

Thank you Debra 💗

+Melanie Thomas Cool! :)
what hook size are you used?
I'm making a baby blanket, and am wanting to pair this with the teddy bear square. would this work in place of the heart appliques
Hi! Yes, I'm fairly sure there's enough space under the Teddy Bear face for a couple of these anchors :) Cute idea!
Jayda you can make those baskets with a nautical theme

I like this but to make the bottom strainer I slipped Bobby pins in the back
Can you show us how to make a smaller one. like small enough to go on a baby bootie

Still waiting for that tutorial for the squid. You should put the patterns on etsy in tutorials. You'll probably earn more subscribers that way.
+Vincent Hanh Some of them are :)

how to I make this smaller for a newborn hat
+Tonia Hart Hi Tonia, this anchor winds up being about 8 cm tall, but if you want it to be smaller, use thinner yarn and a smaller hook, like a 3.00 mm :)
+Jayda InStitches thank you - I will give that a go.
Hi Jayda - would you happen to have a fleur de lis applique by chance? I need one for a baby hat.
