This video is of BABYMETAL's first single "Doki Doki Morning" from 2011. I used the CD as the audio track and then overlaid and synced video from their "official" music-video along with video from 6 different live performances and rehearsals spanning 5 years and threw in some photos. Their age ranges from 11, 10, 10 to 16, 15, 15 in the video and it's kind-of cool to see them performing at the different ages. Oh, and I added in English subtitles for good measure - woohoo!
I do not own any of the music or video used in this compilation. All rights go the the respective copyright holders and original posters.
I urge everyone to support BABYMETAL by purchasing their albums and concert DVDs.

Yeah, I was psyched they left it up. I think it's up to the artist/label as to what they allow. It's also automated because I got the copyright notice within 1 minute of uploading it that it was copyrighted but the rights holder was allowing its use, but there could be ads displayed with the $$$ going to them. I'm sure it's because I used the track from the CD which TH-cam's algorithm immediately recognized. As an aside, I just saw BABYMETAL live in Los Angeles last week... WOOT WOOT! :-) :-) :-)

What they're saying in Japanese is "I am Su-Metal", "I am YuiMetal" and "I am MoaMetal". The pronunciation of the Japanese word for "I am/we are/it is" (desu) also SOUNDS like the English and Japanese words for "Death". It's such a great play on the translation from Japanese to English. So, the song "BABYMETAL DEATH", really just translates (phonetically) to "We Are BABYMETAL", but SEEMS so much more dark. Their play on all the Heavy Metal (which I am a huge fan of) stereotypes is just friggin' awesome. BABYMETAL RULES! And thanks again for watching/commenting :-)

I'm not gonna lie, it took me a good hour (or more) just to sync the part where their heads are spinning since that is an extreme close up. I think it was a symptom of using Windows Movie Maker and not professional video editing software. All's well that ends well though. Totally worth it when I get very nice comments like yours. Thanks for watching, commenting and the compliment. I've tried to determine how much Su, Yui and Moa actually make. My best guess is the girls (in total) CURRENTLY get around 20% of their album sales and 33% of their live concert sales with Su Metal getting probably about half of that cut. When they were younger, they probably just received a rather low flat salary. A LOT of $$$ goes into managing the group in terms of writing the songs, choreographers, technicians, KAMI Band and general talent agency costs. I would equate it to how much a "boy band" like Backstreet Boys makes. 33% doesn't sound like a lot, but, if you consider they grossed over 12 million dollars from their 2 Tokyo Dome shows alone last year, I think the girls are each millionaires several times over by now. At least I pray they are, they certainly deserve it.
Sylver Serf I hope S T Balsak is right. I read they made $100,000 a year. Which I think is taking advantage of them. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait for the new album to see what they come up with next. I'm really hoping they release two versions, one in Japanese and the other in English. Su-Metal's English is really coming along and I think it would definitely broaden their appeal in the west. For me personally, the fact they're a Japanese act and therefore sing in Japanese only adds to my insane amount of enjoyment, but, I also want them to become true superstars in the west. It's also time for them to finally put on a "Legend" Concert in the States. I saw them live in Los Angeles a couple times (I flew in from Phoenix to see them) but I truly believe they can easily sell out a 35,000 seat arena here for a "Legend" style show. I'd fly to Alaska to see it if they put one on. Anyway, I can dream can't I? Thanks for watching and commenting! :-)

This is the first time I've seen a BABYMETAL video with subtitles--brilliant! I've seen the lyrics written before, but not as subtitles over the video so you can put it all together.

I have 3 more subbed BM mashup videos ready to go, but Amuse Entertainment (BM's label) aren't allowing the audio from the songs to be posted on TH-cam yet. I try every month or so to see if they've released the copyright, but so far no luck. I have those 3 videos and a ton more without subs on my personal FB page. I drive my most of my friends crazy with them I think, but I've also converted a number of them to The One as well :-) . And yes, Su, Yui and Moa are too adorable for words. I was stunned seeing them play this song during Babymetals awesome Death Metal set.... It's way to poppy for that. Then I realized they are teenage girls who can do whatever the fuck they want. Then it all made sense.

Doki in Japanese means "Time", so why are you saying "Exciting Morning", I don't understand? :)
I don't speak Japanese so if you say "Doki" means "time" and you do speak Japanese fluently, I'll just have to take your word on that. Every English translation available online of the song has that line as either "Exciting morning" or "A thump thump beating morning." I chose to use "exciting" as "thump thump beating" is not a common English expression. Strangely enough, that exact same line in one of the choruses later in the song is translated (online) as "A hectic, busy, morning" even though they are saying Doki Doki Morning again. I honestly don't have a good answer for you other than I think the context of that line and the song in general is more important versus a literal translation. I took a few other (tiny) liberties with the lyrics to express the same sentiment they were trying to get across, but, again used more common English expressions over the literal Japanese translations I found online. In any case, thanks for watching, commenting and I wish I had an exact, definitive answer for you, but I must defer to the original online translators on this one. The Cookie Monster I'm a Japanese. "Doki doki" comes from the sound of heart beat. When you expect something new, you feel your heart beating like ba-dump ba-dump, right? That kind of feeling is doki doki. So, I think that "exciting" is very close. I would say that is almost perfect. BTW, you are right about "doki" as "time". Its original form as "time" is "toki". Once something is added in front of toki, sometimes it changes to doki. Anyway, "doki doki" and "doki" sound similar but have different meanings.

Now that Su-Metal's English is getting so good, I have a feeling their next album might be released in both Japanese and English which I think would help them "get over" even more here in the United States. They deserve to be as big here as they are in Japan. They are the most amazing, original, unique and genre smashing group to come along in 20+ years imho. I personally love them singing in Japanese, but a lot of people who don't speak Japanese and don't take the time to look up the English translations are missing out on just how inspiring and positive a message they are putting out in their songs.
