@@maryanderson1317 _That_ one was just downright hilarious !! Honourable mention also for the realistic argument they had the episode Becky found out there was no money to send her to college. It was heart breaking and a very realistic portrayal of struggling families at the time.
Absolutely agree. I remember my girlfriend wouldn't let her daughter (12-14) watch the show. I argued that this was a great show for a child that age, with some parental guidance. Discuss the difference between the drama and the comedy. There's a lot there for many adults to think about too.

Such a great show. My all time favorite "scene" was talked about but never shown. From #5 where Dan puts on his jacket and then comes back with with his hand needing some medical attention. I love that the show never backed down from presenting real life situations and problems. Just like too many people have to face everyday but end up having less than perfect solutions. That's life. And the cast of Roseanne portrayed it better than anyone. And they did it while making us laugh.
Fred Absolutely !! 😂🤣😂 The part where Jackie's freaking out, grabs Roseanne by the shoulders, and says "Roseanne...I wanna live". Roseanne says "Think it over !" LOL Also hilarious is how Darlene is so overjoyed and excited that the tornado is headed straight for them, lmao. That's exactly how I was, as a kid when it came to storms, and I still am, lol.
I agree with your choices. I've been watching this show since it first aired. These episodes show just how great it was. Hysterical/touching and always taught a lesson. Roseanne was the first woman to show what a housewife truly was like. Not some woman that wore a dress and pearls, and cleaned house all day, plus waited dutifully on her hubby and kids. She worked in and outside of her house. Loved it. The re-boot (revival) was really good. I can't wait to see Johnny Galecki again, plus learn what happened to Jackie's son. Go Roseanne!! Loved the comment 'Our whole family barks'.
my favorite is the Pot episode...."Is this the sink, am I shrinking?" Of course, every time I've seen that episode, I had to light up as well haha (don't worry, I live in a legal state)
It's #5 that is my favorite. Seeing Dan stand up for Jackie after she'd been beaten made Dan Connor my HERO. I've been in "Jackies" place before so I totally related to the story being told. I just didn't have my "Dan Connor". It was a great episode from start to finish/ part 1 & 2!!!!
When "Dan" beats up "Fisher"...we all fell in love with the big lug, huh?? But still, that line "oh my God! You didn't kill him and then buy Chicken did you?" is still gut busting funny to hear.
When Dan walks into Becky’s room while she’s folding laundry and dancing like no one’s watching to club music on her headphones, and she notices him and freezes, and he goes, “Can I come in or do I need a stamp on my hand…” 😂😂😂😂😂 I couldn’t have been 12 years old cracking up at that episode/part lol
When Emotionally Troubled Darlene writes and reads a beautiful poem letting out her troubled feelings When Dan defended Jackie against her abusive boyfriend Dan grabbed his jacket spoke volumes👍👍
Two of my favorite ROSEANNE lines are "its just me... it's just me and my ganja." and from the same episode "Roseanne! Is it just me or am I shrinking",both lines made me laugh out hard, man,is Laurie Metcalf incredibly talented or what, huh?? Laurie Metcalf will forever be remembered for being "Jackie Harris" and "Ms. Sheldon Cooper".
Best line. When Dan was talking about his travelling salesman dad. 'I don't know how he did it all those years. Selling stuff people don't need to people who can't afford it.'
I love this show so much I have watched every episode because at my old house I did not have cable so we had to use the old antenna and foil and we watched this on the Laff channel along with That 70's show and Drew Carry show I love it all and I'm 12
That moment where Dan grabs his jacket and leaves always resonated with me. Dan was a great Man, and a great father, and he also protected his family, even Jackie lol. Few of the best tv Dads were Uncle Phil, Dan Connor and Al Bundy, all 3 could be pretty scary when they wanted as well lol.
My favorite show..I dont remember much about my shitty childhood in the 80s (born in 87) but when I watch this show now I feel a warm nostalgic feeling. Thanks roseanne and the Connors 🥰🥰
One you missed that’s directly related to the 2nd entry: Roseanne hits DJ. Being victims of abuse was very important to Roseanne and Jackie’s backstory and represented a line that Roseanne in particular swore she would never cross. So when DJ angers her to the point where she does cross that line, she has a complete breakdown and could not apologize to enough people, including her son. It was Roseanne’s finest acting performance of the entire series.
Sorry I'm late to the party; just subscribed. One of my favorite moments of this show was with him; Roseanne and Dan had gotten into an argument, nothing serious. I think it was the first season. Definitely the most real show on TV, where nothing was perfect, especially their money, and you didn't see a lot of that, hell, you still don't. Nah, I put that in the non-realistic jump the shark category. Roseanne was best with real believable stuff. Social issue of the day episodes always seem forced.

Roseanne's mom coming out as a lesbian should've at least been an honorable mention
Dracoboy94 Or showing Fred her real voice lmao
Nah, I put that in the non-realistic jump the shark category. Roseanne was best with real believable stuff. Social issue of the day episodes always seem forced.
The Pot episode was friggin hilarious 😂😂😂
How I forgot this show even existed! That’s me in a wormhole
The Halloween episodes were the BEST!
Same here
Love this show!!!!!
". . . HE'S FINE, HE SENDS HIS LOVE. BYE." So hilarious.
The IRS episode is my all time favorite followed by the “He’s my husband” episode but you left off Dan’s heart attack.
I loved this show! I grew up in the UK and this was on after school i believe it was so funny i loved the humpur and the characters daylenne was a favourite of mine with Dan the father.
Great memories
DJ trying to explain why he spent his $250 inheritance on a trombone: “I bought it cuz there’s this girl I like.” Dan: “ I’m not gettin’ it..” Darlene: “Yeah, neither do a lot of trombone players.”
I loved that part with the spoiled milk
YAS! They kept putting it back in the fridge😂😂😂😂
Anna Fowdy that was a great running gag
The best is when Becky gets drunk. "This is my sister, Lardene. Larlene. Dardene!"
