Soooo beautiful 🤗 i am Georgian but only managed to see mestia few month ago for the first time! And i was shocked how can scenery be like unreal artworks 💙💙💙💚💚💚 #Georgia 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪

I'm watching this in Mestia.. it really is beautiful. and it's not always rainy! We had only a few minutes rain in the last 5 days.. mostly great weather this early August. Do make sure you take that ropeway/ski lifts up to the top ridge early in the day..(from near the Museum) it's sooo glorious walking up there... Wildflowers galore...(unfortunately some crap 'dance' music blasting out of the little cafe but that was a great inspiration to get walking ... Check out the Ushguli made movie 'Dede' that shows at a small cafe near the river.. certainly doesn't glorify Svan culture but a great insight into the harsh lives of the people.... Ushguli has changed of course.. satellite dishes and cafes for the tourists.
Where can you sleep when you are in Mestia? Can you sleep in your tent?

Gorgeous place. Yeah, it rains a lot this time of year (June) in all of Europe, especially Central Europe, but all over really...its normal., and brings that beautiful scenery.

@@zdrasbuytye it's not dangerous to visit Racha and Svaneti, Georgian government made really good roads, so you will visit it without any problem! But not many people there speak english (mostly just youth)
I'll tell myth about Georgia: God was giving countries to people and Georgians came late.God asked to Georgians why they came late and they answered that they had hang out time from Georgian it's named "sufra" it means eating together and drinking wine by blessing each other and god was happy heard about this and he gave Georgians the best place to live and lots of vine and also Georgia is wine country
And myth about mountain khvamli: God was keeping jewellery and he lost one of them where is khvamli mountain and it's the most mysterious mountain and place in Georgia if u haven't heard about it u have to cheque

Hey , nobody complains when it rains in Scotland .Just wait till the ski resorts come up , this place will be over-run with tourists and hotels and shops .Mestia will be the next Gstaad and I will have to be a day tripper . Beautiful !

I've been to ushguli. It was wintertime , very freighting road - don't drive alone! take a guide. it's worth it! as you said it froze in time like 200 years ago

Gerogia looks like a hidden gem that needs to be discovered by a lot of tourists.
There is a very simple question I would like to ask you and it has to do with the kind of equipment you used to take this footage. I'm subscribed to no less than ten different world travelers bloggers such as yourself and, as you can easily imagine, I watch a looooot of videos that have to do with travelling. However, I must tell you that I have never seen before anything that came even close to the sharpness of your footage and I really want to emphasize the word NEVER because I really mean it.
Everything looks crystal clear, even grass which is one of the most tricky areas to watch when judging a lens.
I suppose you may have used a gimbal but I'm just curious about the camera and the lens. Even assuming there is some post processing I will end my comment by telling you that thanks to your footage I discovered that my mid to low price monitor is capable of delivering an image I've never imagined it could!

Who knows - maybe one day Georgia's Upper Svanetia/Mestia region might host a Ski Worldcup one day...it would be awesome! It's not like they don't have any mountains there skiable for international competitions ;-) More investment, both by the central government and local regional authorities as well as a bunch of both local and foreign investment could work wonders and seriously boost winter and summer tourism for both domestic and international visitors. I think that region (as well as Georgia as a whole) deserves it. Mass tourism always has its downsides of course, and many of the traditional cultural aspects might (and eventually will, alas) be lost. But, just like from the historical expericence here in Central Europe in the Alps and other areas, I think certain mistakes might be avoided regarding Georgia and compromises will eventually be found. Either way: I think Georgia is perhaps on a good track as many Europeans are getting more and more aware of the country and its cultural and natural beauties. Here in my native Germany, tons of good documentaries on national public TV about Georgia have been made/broadcasted in the past 10-15 years. And Georgian wine & cuisine have been subtly promoted that way as well. We'll see what happens in the future.

But Ushguli is not the highest settlement in Europe, it's in Georgia either, located in Tusheti, a village Bochorna.

Many Georgian women will only marry Georgian men, but some are open to foreigners. Georgian women are generally excellent, full of kindness, intelligence, and femininity. They are very caring, respectful to their elders and family, care deeply for children and family, and are not money focused (as Georgians generally are not as money focused when compared to other cultures), so they appreciate simple gestures of love and don't expect to be showered in expensive gifts. However, they do also expect men to be very strong and masculine in their manner and behavior - weak / soft men will not attract them and they won't tolerate them - as Georgian men also tend to be very outgoing, confident, and masculine.
