I stay in the zones listed for 5 more lvls each (this helps in a couple places mentioned that the vid that is a bit misleading). I went from 70-250 in less than 2hrs including fly times/random several minute afk'ing. Then as mentioned in the comments I looted boxes from brd/lrbs for quick 300. Helped to have absolutely zero competition ofc. Maybe a bit of luck too. Didn't have but 3-4 failed attempts total. Great guide if you don't want to grind mobs all day for boxes.
At 190 you can pickpocket the pirates in tanaris or the mobs in zulfarrak. They drop lockboxes that can also give decent stuff like blinding powder.
Thank you for this very good guide. Also i would like to say, epic videoguide style, just a bit calming music in the background and your unique voice giving all y need to lvl lockpicking.
The boxes in the Desolace area stay yellow until lvl 200 giving you one lvl for each box until lvl 200.

Dented footlockers in The Slag pits are still red at lv 201 lockpicking.....
There are two types of dented footlockers, both of which are in the slag pits. One requires 200, the other requires 225.
Ring of Law is a best way to pickpocket in Depths, there are ~70 mobs at one place. I've got 250-315 on lvl 63 in 3 runs, fast and easy 👍

also at 2:20 i kept unlocking till 155. still green but got bored

Lock Picking seems a bit buggy currently. I am currently in the slag pit (also encountered same but in angor forge) some lockboxes are red and some are lockpickable , same kind of lockboxes. very odd.

Sick how he manages to not show on the map where the location is every single time. He toggles the map for literally 1/1000 of a second, leaving you no clue whatsoever where the location is.

There are no lockboxes at Alther's Mill anymore. Any suggestions? Level 60 rouge, lockpicking at zero.
wtf just go with 175 to Zul farrak Pickpocking all the Mobs and get fast Skill to 250 Thanks me later i need to correct it. That droprate is so hard random not the fastest way. But in brd lbrs its a higher dropchance fast to 300

You get lockboxes to pick which does.
you want to avoid this. after 34 mins in zf only got 9 boxes.

Dented Footlockers (The Slag Pit) require 225 lockpicking, NOT 200 as stated in the video. Stay at Angor Fortress for the extra 25 levels.

the ones in the lower mine level are 200, the ones in the upper barracks area are 225.
lvling this skill is absolutely painful and misserable, what a drag (Warmane)
You can go to 100 in the beginning lock picking quest i will take a little longer from 70 to 100 but nothing bad it slows down alot the last 5
THANK YOU for not including the Rogue poison quest footlockers. You cant phecking open them after you're finished with the quest and I cant imagine that many rogues are looking up lockpicking guides before they get their poisons.
For the under water lockboxes, I would suggest grabbing some underwater breathing pots. Saves you a ton of time

went to searing gorge slag pits as level 207 to find out the dented footlockers are red and unpickable.....
Went to Searing Gorge today at 205 LP to find the exact same thing. Even the Rogue trainer tells me to go to Searing Gorge.....very irritating. The boxes at ST turned yellow at 200 for me as well. Wondering where the orange boxes are at this point.
You guys ever figure it out? having same issue every guide says searing gorge, but they are red
Slag pit is actually one of the worst places to train lockpicking.. also too much fkin talking just get to the point
Something to note for the chests underwater in Lake Everstill: you can go into your settings and turn down "Ground clutter" this is the slider that changes how much small folliage/grass there is.
Turning it off will help you spot the chests at maximum range.

I stayed in Tanaris from 225 to 285 and received a skill on all openings. Just for the curious out there (Also, the Sturdy Junkboxes gives good skill for a while after 225).
Angor Fortress has battered footlockers upstairs to 200, Dented footlockers downstairs after that

@@skildal87 you can go to badlands or ask like a maníac for people who have Strong iron lockbox :) (2nd option worked out fine for me)
Skill issue
The BEST strat by a landslide is once your high enough to pick thorium post in trade chat that you’ll pick locks for free and tips appreciated. I found this 100x quicker and easier due to the instance lock out

The battered Footlockers in Windshear mine are gray at 143 so please correct the guide for tbc :)
VERY slow respawn rate on the lockboxes on mid- and upper-level (pickable at lvl 165-175).
I don't know how anybody has the patience to do this LMAO even in WoTLK with the glyph to instantly unlock the locks it takes FOREVER to just get to 70 even.... I salute you if you've levelled this to 300 XDDDD
Alliance don't be fooled the boxes at Althers Mill will get you up to 90+ easily

The lockboxes in Angor Fortress are all over not just up stairs.

when looking for lockboxes.
also, reduce clutter to 1 so easier to see. THIS WAY YOU WILL DIE TO DROWNING :D

Leveling up lockpicking skill as I level my rogue in Classic. You can only get 5 levels of lockpicking per level...it just stops until you level up your character to the next level, then you get 5 more skillups in lockpicking

I will never ever ever download that addon add-ons are horrible and I will not download anything like that the game was made the game was finished and that's that it is fine on a single player game to add things to it if you choose to but a game like this if you are making the game easier for yourself you are effectively cheating against me and I will not stoop to that level thank you for getting my lockpicking to 300 though
In desolas I went there as a lvl 41 rogue and had 150 lockpicking skill. But I didn't lvl to 170. I leveled all the way to 205 then I stopped getting lvls! Sooo they must have buffed this
4:30 water logged footlockers are still orange at lvl 175. can prob go to 180+ before you go on to the next area
edit. Orange well through the 170's till mid 80's
Yellow till: 200.
at 200 they are green
just throwing it out there, i dont know names of places all that much , angor fortress, that whole part, you should have zoomed out and shown it on the map , had to go google it. not a huge thing, but if youre tryna make an all in 1 guide, it helps to show ALL locations

I'm at lockpicking 205 and I can't open the dented footlockers.
U have to go to the bottom/lower (2nd entrance from left on map) slag pit mate not the top one. Until u are 225 i think it is then u can go top floor for Dented.
How can you scroll in and out in ur map like that pls?

Yeah I'm at 200, the dented footlockers in the Slag pit are not pickable
because you in the upper section its 225 but the downsection is 200
and the part 200-2500 i have the skill up to 200 it s red
There are also mossy footlockers a little to the north inside the reef/ruins north of the naga spot in desolace.

When you come across a lock box in a dungeon do you roll on it and unlock it for people? or do you tell them, you leveled it, it's a profession, and if they want it then to level a rogue? or be sneaky and say "can't unlock" and then go back after the dungeon.
Rogues get the locked chest. We roll on regular
You can actually pick the shadow forge lock at lvl 57 but this all depends on what lvl the mobs are next to the shadowforge. If you see a lvl 52 and your lower than 60 thern you cant do it without being caught, lvl 51mob is fine but need a perfect standing spot.
