Lemme help you with a brief info about them: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24, next month is her birthday. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018, today June 20 is her 25 birthday. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. About this song: Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound. The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson and Scott LePage and it's very clear in the solo section. Tim Henson also said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song. The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc. Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly. Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together. Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it. They did it again today at Graspop Festival in Belgium and hugging each other at the end just like they did it here but it was cut at the end. In a recent interview at Download Festival, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one. This song is actually from their 2019 album Metal Galaxy, but this was the first time BABYMETAL had the chance to perform it live with Tim and Scott from Polyphia who had provided the original guitar tracks for the song. This is certainly one of BABYMETAL's 'softer' songs, but they do everything. You won't have seen or heard anything quite like them, they are both original and unique having pioneered their own new metal sub-genre (thus the name BABYMETAL signifying the birth of a new genre) fusing metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics, including introducing choreographed dance to metal (but not as you may know or think of choreographed dance as it is used and done by pop acts). They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but they will also mix or blend so many other musical styles and genres in with the metal. Some songs are good straight, hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. Expect the unexpected ... and they will still surprise you.
