So being afraid of what your neighbours will think seems to be the biggest obstacle for most farmers wanting to make a change. You have to admire James and Bea for walking against the flow.
Read his first books when they came out. Nice bloke from a line of true hard working stockmen. Glad he’s adopting regenerative practices. It will mean a great future for his family. Well done.
Nice to see James and daughter out on Greg and Jan's farm. James, while you're there, see if you can't help Greg with his pronunciation of the name Hereford. This speech impediment appears to effect the entire continental USA. At least he has spared us the US Dad joke 'Worse-ses-ster-sher sauce'. Another national calamity, that plays havoc with my seventy-year-old's humour, grouchy at best. Pronunciation apart, I do enjoy the show, the best on YT for regenerative agriculture, I never imagined I would like looking at grass so much, and glad hear you are following his example in Cumbria. Thank god you are not from Herefordshire.
Absolutely love this, that is a landscape full of abundance; an engine for health and life,. You can hear it, a 'Silent Spring' this is not, how did we ever become so used to our quiet, depleted farmscapes. Thank you Greg and James for showing what is possible and for shifting the dial a little back the other way.
Cool ! I watch the British program "Escape to the country" ( here on TH-cam) often on break or doing dishes (when I don't have energy for something more educational on farming or gardening), so, I have seen some of the English countryside, incl. the Lake District, on the show ! Lovely interview/visit ! Hello from the beautiful, rolling hills of west-central WI !
Thanks for the video! It was to have another interview of them. You have met so many wonderful people over the years. It’s great to see them again. We got a little rain this morning. I haven’t check how much yet. I’ve been working nights so I took a nap this morning now I’m up. It’s going to be a hot one for a few days here.
Going across field converting from hay to grazing came upon a nice approx 20 ft cluster of interspersed Eastern Gamma. Cool! Love Greg's books. I should get Mr. Rebanks' books. Great future for his daughter also. Very likeable people
Greg, feed them a “American breakfast “. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been in England but I still talk about their breakfasts. The same thing every morning. We all have so much to learn from other people.
Lovely to see James and Bea at Green Pastures Farm. Wonder if Bea would take an opportunity to intern there for a short while. Hashtag Busman’s Holiday 😃 😉
Wise words to get young people on the land 👌
And l love these collaborations 🙏
Great interview! Nice to see them again, and that they were able to visit.
