Confessions era Madonna was THE Madonna moment. She was forward-looking, she was in her element, she looked and sounded the best she ever did and she owned the charts. Everyone loved her. I hope we can get at least one more Madonna moment like this
it was my favorite era and in my view her peak. Re-inventions was good too. MDNA was awful in my view. I mean I did like the original blonde ambition era and ofc the like a virgin era. 2006 Madonna was the best live vocals though and dancing and the dark glasses idk it is that timeless forward looking as you say she seemed the most engaged. I think Hung up is on par with dress you up my other favorite of hers.
We all love to have the greatness of Madonna once again... But she seems lost, and she also is getting old.. But after all, she is the one and only, iconic music in the 80's 90's and 00's , she ruled in the top of charts and popularity, over 30 years I guess no man or woman did it before

Just for fun: this wasn’t on the main stage but in the dance tent that year. The tent was PACKED and it was a hot evening with a mild breeze. There was a small wait so the anticipation of seeing a living legend was like to the ceiling. It was absolutely thrilling, she was really present and made most of the other acts that year look like amateurs. It felt like being at a club rather than a concert, people were going crazy *(the audio doesn't really let on how deafening it was). Also, you can see camera phones hadn’t really got to the point yet where they became such an omnipresent part of live acts, so people are free to put their hands up and PARTY 🎉

I remember when it was announced Madonna would play Coachella, everyone was like "Why?" Because she wasn't indie. They expected her to take the main stage...instead, she took the side stage at the dance Sahara TENT and now, it's normal for pop acts to play Coachella.

I was at this performance, to this day one of the best openings to any show I've seen. I'm not even a fan but the video doesn't do it justice, the crowd went absolutely nuts.

I was there! She was the first megastar to play Coachella, at that time known for indie-rock bands and dance-oriented DJs. She brought new great creative energy to the festival, opening the door for those stars who followed. She went from Coachella to her Confessions Tour - the most successful tour by a female artist - which began in LA.

YES!!! I was there. I remember how all 100,000 people on the Coachella grounds started walking to the tent 1/2 before the show. She was only a couple of minutes late, but WAS IT WORTH IT!!!! It was the Coachella moment of 2006.
Late ..lol ... That is another thing she is really good at .... she is at least 45 minutes late for every live show she performs . She once got caught in the traffic that was going to her concert . But always worth it in the end .

Peak Madonna in her imperial phase. For me this album and tour and the whole period was her at her greatest. To me this tour has never been bettered. Staging, music, dancing and visuals were the best.
