Some people will never know how big the impact of Itzy's songs is on us. These past few days, I've been out of my actual self due to the pressure of my environment on me. I tend to overthink and doubt my capabilities as a student. (1)
But hearing "Bet on Me" gave me the strength to continue and to try my best even if there's no assurance that I'll win the battle between me and life's challenges. Because just like Ryujin's lines, "Wanna win? Then I gotta lose some days. Yes. I will fail, but that's fine." (2)
Because life is so unpredictable. Some days are okay, but some days are too must to handle. But still, life is something that we need to continue even on the darkest days. Because in the end, everything will be fine. I had so many realizations about my life last night. (3)
Just like Chaeryeong's lines, "I am the only one who will believe me." I realized that the first person that should believe in us is ourselves first. Just as Lia said in her lines, "I am trying to kill my doubt. I won't deny my fear inside." It's okay to feel those emotions, (4)
especially if those emotions are new to us. We shouldn't invalidate our negative feelings, but we shouldn't let them dictate our actions and keep us from striving for success and better days. Yeji also says in her lines, "I trust me" and "Do I believe in me?" (5)
these lines remind me that even though we have so many questions and doubts within ourselves, we should still believe that we can do it, and believe in our capabilities that we can survive the challenges of life. Lastly, Yuna's lines, "Hey world, I hope you're nice to me. (6)
But If you're not, gotta still be true to me." The world is a cruel place for some, especially for those who are experiencing life challenges and judgments from society. But still, being in a cruel world made us realize many things in life. (7)
Such as, "We should continue despite the judgment and hate from other people." and "It's okay to make mistakes because we're still young, and still learning about the real world itself. Those judgments and hatred from people will make us stronger to face the reality of life (8).
You will succeed, midzy believes in you. ❤
The thing I like is that I've seen lots of interpretations and I feel like all are valid. It's a piece of art. The overall theme is them dealing with and overcoming self doubt and fear they've faced from early in their careers to especially recently. JYP wrote this himself.
ooooooh JYP wrote it? interesting! I definitely felt as if it was an overcoming/triumph over their fears. I love when songs and/or MVs allow lots of different interpretations to the viewer.
This song just reminds me of Feel Special ( JYP wrote that too), the reason he wrote Feel Special and Bet on Me was similar, he listened to Twice and Itzy members stories, how they overcome the struggle they've been through since debut, maybe that's why Feel Special and Bet On Me will always have the special spot in my heart
I think this song and MV is about self love by going out of their comfort zones and moving forward -- choosing themselves while at the same time acknowledging their fears and doubts. Running to the light at the end of the tunnel is a great metaphor for going outside of their comfort zones to move forward and grow further to be a better version of themselves.
some people said that this is itzy’s feel special and i kinda agree bc the lyrics talk abt stopping to doubt themselves and stopping being afraid and caring abt the hate they could get. for me, them running in the tunnel is them running towards the light aka the “better” side of them that’s fearless and more confident
I can see that! I'm excited to see whats to come with them!!! 🥰
Ryujin's home outfit reminds me of the boyish pretty girl i used to date back in college (one of the reasons why this mv made me tear up) especially that face of hers in 4:57 😭
Ryujin is absolutely stunning in this MV! 😊🥰
You know Yeji had to be exhausted after filming this MV!
right?! soooo much running lol
Can we get a running shoe brand deal asap? 😂
I like the M/V, the images are emotional, the message is great. I can't lie I like Yuna's eyes 🙂 Will you stream AOTM with Ryujin and Yeji ?
My personal interpretation of things is that they're escaping their own fears and doubts, encouraging one's belief in oneself. I think this is a common theme from them: self-confidence, believe in yourself. But like I said, this is just my interpretation, I could be wrong.
I love how u break down the mv and lyrics! especially since this one is so meaningful, yes they’re trying to break out of their self isolating box of self doubt. They’re running into the light now, perhaps a new era? they mentioned in interviews the self doubts they had when releasing cb songs whether it will be well received or not
The point is that most kpop artists say things like this... everyone knows them but don't know the truth... sometimes one side likes them, sometimes one side doesn't like them... even though they are sick, hurt, sad it was ordered not to show it to any of its fans and 현재 아이돌만 알고 현재만 알기 때문에 그 이면의 고군분투도 모르고.... 그래서 케이팝 아티스트들이 더 자랑스럽습니다.
suchna good song
Thank you
no thank you! 🥰
It is THE tunnel ;d I was also shook when i discovered it.
Also the lyrics are somehow imo tied, like, in that dance break in DALLA DALLA, they're like:
"Bad, bad, I’m sorry I’m bad, I’m just the way I am" /"My life, I will live my own way, don’t you care
Cause I’m special, yeah".
And here, they're like, escaping? from the judgments people are making?? Also Yuna being in the (hate)train, Pictures from Boys Like You i think and/or Sneakers, running out, from all the hate etc..
As someone said i saw: Itzy in their 'Feel Special' era (They have each other, they chose to believe in themselves etc).
it's not about the actual shooting location of the tunnel... it's the metaphorical tunnel
@@incheonguywhy are you so aggressive toward other fans? I've seen interpretations from asian fans too who got the same idea. Good art can have many meanings to different people.
Escape the critical criticism and believe in themselves? (just a guess)
I would say yes that’s an very good interpretation of this mv/song! ☺️
guys let's support ITZY, please let's not forget that if they are not getting a good treatment and promotion sadly we have to do all the work that others should do.🫶🫶
