Great to hear the farmer chatting about the crop. He sounded sceptical but up for the challenge. Really hope your experiment works out and it will be interesting for us to follow as well.
Good that you go deeper into the matter. We have the same problem with seed coating here. Also saw the problems with the snails at "Harry's Farm". Fortunately, we have little trouble with snails here, we are also not allowed to sprinkle grains against the snails as you do. My brother "Jilles Boer" also shows in his vlogs how little money is spent on farmers products and bread and beer.
Hello Matt on of the ideas that a lot of estates around us are using is a longer stubble and direct drilling into the stubble and it’s supposed too eliminate the beetle but we’ll see how well that works but it has been a terrible year but hopefully we’ll get a better year this year. Good luck
Look forward to this series Matt. It'll be interesting to see how it fairs. It would be handy if you had another mic for Agg, I've always struggled to hear what other people are saying.
💓I love driving to my cousins in the cotswolds especially when I see the different colour fields of the rape seed flowers, what do they do that you don’t is the question💓
Hi .I wanna grow rapeseed in Africa and I'm curious how many tonnes would I harvest on 50ha land please. I want to use the cake as stockfeed supplement Thanks
I wouldn't like to guess at that one, I would have a word with some farmers around you and go from there just due to climate, soil types, rainfall etc might differ from what we have in the UK! The average yields across the UK for 2020 was 2.75 tonnes per hectare 👍
Thanks to the farmer for taking the time to talk to use and share his knowledge. He is always very interesting. Good luck with the crop.

Thanks for that really enjoyed listening to you talk of problems with rape. I've subscribed so looking forward to following your journey.

You can spread muck before spinning on the rape and the smell of the muck confuses the cabbage stem flea beetle also did you use a companion crop?

I agree with the different colours! Yellow oilseed rape on one side, green maize on the other, golden wheat and barley in front and behind!
