And yes, we had a wonderful evening. Sorry about not mentioning the score, but the Abbey seminarians won 13 to 12. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
The reason the logs are use in the fire is they were either dead trees or trees infected with beetles that were dying. As the abbey is a tree farm, as you saw proof of it by the sign at the beginning of the video, and the trees generate money for the abbey, cutting live trees for the purpose of burning them is contrary. Thinning trees is a practice for tree farms to get better growth from the trees, and all the logs are derived from this practice. Kinda creepy and dangerous. 🤷🏻♀️
For certain, fires can be dangerous, but the fire truck was there the entire time to ensure complete safety. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Gail.
Mr. Ed
Could you get drone footage of the bonfire next year?
Now that is an awesome idea, and next year I will try to do it. Thank you for the suggestion and for watching. Also, I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. The morning after and still enough coals to cook up a fine southern breakfast Mr Ed! Is that how you Louisiana dwellers try to out compete Burning Man? Just imagine a flat pice of cast iron or even a flat rock, and all the fish that Good Time Charlie could whip up! Hope your weekend is as fine and enjoyable as the celebratory fire was.! -Bob...
It's been many, many years since I have had a real camp fire breakfast, and after reading your comment it got me thinking about doing it again. Thanks for the reminder and for taking the time to watch the video. God's peace Bob.
Mr. Ed
@@JeffHorchoff Plenty of time to rehearse for a fine ole fashioned campfire breakfast for the Holidays Mr Ed! Hope you have an opportunity to enjoy such as well as a fine week ahead! -Bob...
Why they doing this?Lots of smoke in air.
It has been a tradition for decades building a bon fire and lighting it. The actual process of building and burning is a lesson for the seminarians both physical and spiritual. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Did y'all catch anything? That's the most important question lolol
Heck yes we caught fish, in fact, I plan on posting it as a "members only" video pretty soon. Thanks for watching. God's peace Thorne.
Mr. Ed
Professor Ed, Is that the first bonfire you shared with Mona @ the abbey? I bet that made great memories. God's peace to both of you during our celebration of Jesus. BTW, WHAT WAS THE FINAL SCORE.
Believe it or not, this was the first bon fire I have seen at the abbey and I have been here for 15 years. I have seen all of them the day after, but never the lighting of one, beautiful! And yes, we had a wonderful evening. Sorry about not mentioning the score, but the Abbey seminarians won 13 to 12. Thank you for your blessings and for watching. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
Got to ask what sort of logs used pine-tree of some sort it is a wonder they don't put through a mill ????.😮
The reason the logs are use in the fire is they were either dead trees or trees infected with beetles that were dying. As the abbey is a tree farm, the practice of thinning trees, especially sick or dead ones, is very common. The fire is a very good way of disposing of these trees...and beautiful to watch. Thanks for watching. God's peace Brett.
Mr. Ed
Wow unreal to see a loss like that.ripper looking logs.
What was the score of the game?
Sorry I forgot to include that in the video. The seminarians from St. Joseph Abbey beat the seminarians for Notre Dame 13 to 12, go Ravens! Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing
Nothing like a good fire stacked up high...especially on a cold night. Thanks for watching. God's peace James.
Mr. Ed
Are you sure that Mona isn’t on a witness protection list?
It's true, the girl does not like to be on videos, but I still sneak it in from time to time. We had a great evening at the bon fire! Thanks for watching. God's peace Daniel.
Mr. Ed
Didn't you learn from the Texas A&m?
Sorry, I have no idea of what you mean. Thanks for watching. God's peace Vince.
Mr. Ed
Did you bring marshmallows?
No marshmallows, but we did go eat tacos after the fire. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 600 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Todd.
Mr. Ed
You north Americans just never do anything small do you😂 fire bans been declared for central Otago so no bonfires for us😂 looks like you had a great time 👍👋
Now that's a crying shame, no fires. I don't think there is a man alive who just does not love a good fire. Thanks for watching. God's peace Juss.
Mr. Ed
That's a lot of carbon emissions. Is all of that lumber useless? And is there a purpose to such a LARGE fire and destruction of what looks to be perfectly good wood?
Not really, all the wood that is used was from dead or dying trees. Honestly!, there’s always a woke greenie troll hiding in the shadows to proclaim junk science and try to rain on a parade. That’s sick!
Lighter up! Have some genuine fun, bless God Almigty…he’s going to light an eternal flame some day and I doubt there’ll be any mention of carbon emissions!
Thanks for sharing Jeff!
