Your the minority now, bud. Even if the true intent of this VERY Meta and self aware game, that actively makes Saving and Loading the game features in the story that characters can and will pickup on... SOMEHOW said the character who's first lines in the only timeline we see them is "Greetings. I am Chara. Thank You. Your power awakened me from death" was the villain... Its not the more interesting take on the character, or the story. Even if (And i highly doubt it) Toby's intention was for the first fallen human who sacrificed their life for monsters to be the secret villain of the game... thats not the more interesting version of ANYTHING.
Chara is NOT evil, bud. Her role is to judge you (and no, it's not Sans'. His role is to make you quit, restart the game. It's done mostly by mocking you during the battle and after your deaths). She is the consequences of YOUR actions as the player. Chara erases the timeline not because she is evil, but because you are. You, sick bastard, if given the possibility might just do it again. So Chara erases the timeline, instead of resetting it, and only after you give ur soul up she let's you reset, as you are no more in control of everything. So: she judges you, takes away your ability to continue as a punishment and a way to stop the endless genocides (which ARE a possibility), and if u come back with the intentions of making everything normal again, she firstly makes sure of it by making you give up your soul, and only then let's you go. In short: Chara's not evil, bruh.
