My lumion doesn't read very well any type of 3D model exported from revit, it was mpossible...

I`ve been wondering. Is there a way to hide a selected layer however keep it`s volume? Meaning: I hide the 2nd floor layer but the sun still takes the component into account without flooding the entire, now exposed 1st floor, with light. Is there a way to do this at the moment?

I'm not sure within Lumion. There may be something you can do with the materials that will let you see the sky but stay in shadow. Otherwise render it twice and edit it in post.

Unfortunately it's going to be difficult to find a free sketchup model that includes structural details. I am trying to find one myself to share with you guys. You could model some of the basic structure in SketchUp yourself, but it would take a lot of time. Subcontractors and engineers will often model the structural and MEP for us in the field for BIM coordination, but never use the models in this way. That's when it's nice to use their work.
