    Back when America was great, things were made in America and made with quality. Trucks and cars were built like tanks unlike the soulless plastic with batteries

    My Dad had 2 51 Chevrolet 2 ton grain trucks. Inside looks exactly as this one. Longer front end. They been gone way over 45 years ago.

      as a kid i stood on the seat while they hauled grain, even down the valley hills and the passenger door didnt stay shut, but all those noises in the cab,,,,, the same as 60 years ago. oh and our motor mounts were broke so the gear shift was always twisting over.

    Good drive with the Coe truck, it's pretty, the way I like them, you were on point to get the feel to drive one. My wife have a 2006 Mitsubishi Coe truck, but way smaller than the big beauty you have. Good video and algorithm pickup on my feed, I really like this video document. Thanks

    Nice to see that there's at least one of these out there that hasn't been slapped onto a modern chassis with a Big Block behind the cab.
    "STOKER FUEL" leads me to believe that this was a coal truck at one point in time?

    I liked the ride along, thanks. If you wouldn't mind, I can live with the crack passenger window, but that loose felt window strip has to go. That drove me crazy. I was trying to see the shift points, but that octopus arm was freaking me out.

    It looks like it had a full-pressure 235 installed at some point because they swapped in the replacement 0-60 oil pressure gauge that GM sold for that purpose.

      The 4 years since I made this comment I figured out it's not a Chevy COE, it's a 51 Ford COE. It was in the bushes and trees at the time I made the comment, but now it's likely sold off. Last time I went to my aunt's house it was out of the bushes, in the front yard with a for sale sign on it.

The one that goes under the seat to the shifter rod if you know a place let me know been working on it for about three years runs I need some brake parts in. Just put a new door glass wing glass only seals capsules but I need that shifter boot so I can put the seat in

    • @Nonameleftohav
      @Nonameleftohav  ปีที่แล้ว

      It did hve a vacuum actuated 2 speed axel

    • @flashesofblack4128
      @flashesofblack4128 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nonameleftohav Hmmmm, I did not see the handle on the gearshift to change the gear ratios in the year differential. I have driven trucks like this and I would always split shift when driving. I preferred the electric differential solenoid over the vacuum style because the response seemed to be quicker and more predictable. Maybe I am missing something here. Never the less. What a grand beauty of a truck from long ago!

    • @jerrybrooks870
      @jerrybrooks870 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@flashesofblack4128 , on these old trucks, the two speed shifter is mounted under the dash. I have a 51 conventional 2&1/2 ton, and I mounted a later model shifter off of a 55 model on the gearshift. It's a lot more convenient for split shifting that way.

    • @flashesofblack4128
      @flashesofblack4128 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerrybrooks870 Yes exactly. Its so easy when the rear differential shifter in mounted on the floor shift. It even worked in reverse! I drove big rigs for a short time with Eaton Fuller 10-speed transmissions. I really didn't spit shift those tractors. When I went through the gears, then I would shift to high range with a button on the shifter. I Think they were the best transmissions ever. They were so easy to "Float" the gears.

    Why are they called C.O.E. when the engine actually sits out front? A proper C.O.E. Is a high up and flat fronted truck where the driver sits above the engine. 🤷‍♀️

    • @Nonameleftohav
      @Nonameleftohav  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, thats the seating position in these. You sit directly over the engine. The little hood out front is only to access the radiator cap.
