ok I finally figured out what was throwing me off on this video. amarguitar, if you listen carefully to the count on this, the yellow bar is not matching the count on the 6 beats of A. You have it written as a bar of 2/4, followed by a bar of 4/4, but the yellow bar is counting four beats on the first bar and 2 beats on the second. Fix one or the other. Personally, I would put the bar of 4/4 first, since the mind naturally wants to count another bar of 4/4. Adding a bar of 2/4 of the same chord is easier on the brain. But thanks for uploading this, it is fun to improvise over when nobody else is around.
Meter notation precedes the music it affects. It's notated correctly. The first A bar continues the 4/4 of the song preceding it, followed by one bar of 2/4, followed by the rest of the song returning to 4/4.
You might argue that the yellow highlight should include the meter mark before but not after, but that's a different issue.
Thanks for all that you do to spread knowledge on this wonderful music!! I did notice 1 thing when playing thru this backing track. You have all the verses set to repeat and they only repeat them during the solo sections. During the singing verses' they only play thru the progression once before moving on the the chorus.
is there any way you can take live dead performances or phish performances and mute the lead guitar? i garuntee if you can swing that people will adore you and you will have so many new subscribers and views! alot of people including me want to jam with actual jams from live recordings but there is none- yet!
