It's tough to watch LMM and not get emotional... even more so if you watch her perform it live, she sang it at an award show I believe, it's one of my favorite performances because she transmits the emotions so well. Like all the MAMAMOO members, it's an incredible talent to be able to do so many styles, from something silly and funny to more serious full of emotion.
There is a performance of LMM on Dingo for Musicgraphy. It has an interview segment at the end where Hwasa comments on LMM. Her thoughts and feelings surrounding the song. It's definitely worth watching, even if you don't make it a reaction. Her wisdom and the depth of her emotional intelligence is unbelievable. She has so many layers. ❤
I love your interpretation of Twit because a different layer that I didn’t consider before, like her hiding parts of herself in the closet scene and stying there contemplating whether to walk out or not.. In the MV she is wrapped in plastic a lot, it signifies how suffocated she felt.. Twit means fool, here basically foolish in love, for her it have a positive meaning, basically like you said she didn’t feel deserving of his love because he gave her a lot but she couldn’t reciprocate so she told him he is being foolish because she felt bad
Excellent breakdown of LMM (Losing (or Lost)My Mind) . The wooden enclosure she was sitting in, I believe, represents the womb, the only place she ever felt totally safe. But she couldn't stay, of course, and had to go out into the cruel world. Good analogy of the building to her mind. MV was shot at one of the villas of the Kosmos "Healing Stay" on Ulleungdo Island in South Korea. Such a beautiful, peaceful-looking place. This song was on the same album as "I'm a B" and "Maria".
The title of the first song is Be Calm and yes, it's like a page from her diary. She wrote it after the passing of her beloved uncle. The quote at the end is from a letter by Seneca to a younger man. Be Calm was her solo song on Mamamoo's Yellow Flower EP, the first album in the 4 Season 4 Color series. Her best songs are very personal, which is another way of saying that her soul is art. Totally agree. Twit is British slang for someone who is annoying and useless. It's used dismissively. Loved your interpretation of the lyrics and I think it's spot on, tho because you didn't know what Twit meant I think you might have missed the twist at the end where, after calling him a twit throughout the song, she leaves us wondering who's the real twit - the guy who loved her perhaps too much or her for refusing to accept his love and pushing him away. It's based on a real relationship she was in. You didn't seem to notice Wheein's cameo in the MV. Hwasa's fandom name is twit so we're all twits on this bus lol. LMM stands for Lost My Mind. Maria and LMM are bookend songs on the Maria album. Your interpretation was again excellent. I never thought of the unusual house as her inner castle but I don't disagree with you. At the end she stands facing the rain of arrows without fear or defiance, simply accepting what comes her way like a flower blooming in the rain. Notice as the camera pans out the arrows look like a field of flowers surrounding her. I think she intended it as a metaphor for turning hate to love. LMM was my pick for 2020 SOTY with Maria as the runner up. It's a devasting and gorgeous song and the MV is equally beautiful. 😂
@@2J-ReactsThere's a part in LMM, where she sings, "The wind makes each other hurt". Whee, comfort me", which is reference to Wheein, who represents wind in MMM.
I really enjoyed your analysis of these. A couple of points about Twit. It's not so much that she can't open up. It's that she feels like the other person is too focused on only her. She refers to him as delicate Shim Cheong, a character in traditional Korean literature who commits suicide to restore her blind father's sight. A side note there is also a commentary on beauty standards requiring light skin. When she is darker and dancing on the table everyone ignores her, but the men gaze up in adoration when she is lighter. The album Maria is all about trying to love yourself. There is a beautiful intro and then Maria as the first song and LMM as the last. Like Maria she is singing to herself in LMM and struggling with the costs of being an artist. Several months ago Hwasa was a performer at an awards ceremony. She had been scheduled to perform her recent song Chili. A well known actor committed suicide shortly before the ceremony and she substituted LMM in the performance in his honor.

Thank you for explaining more! And I can't believe I missed Wheein, I usually just look at the person I focus on and everyone else is a blurr 🫣

Oh now I understand Twit better! And it's good to hear that she changed the song, LMM really fits better and is respectful 🥺
