Yeah. The main cast about to have a Kieran arc with all the L’s they keep taking. In all seriousness, I think that the biggest problem with the trio is that they just don’t train on their own volition unless the plot calls for it, especially when it comes to their other Pokemon. I’m guessing that the writers are so afraid of repeating what made JN so controversial that not only do the kids other Pokemon constantly get neglected in favor of their starters but they never mention that they at least trained offscreen.

Tinkatink, Kilowattrel and Hattrem all gone dirty. I wasn't expecting them to win, but at least have more screen time or land some good hits or show off more of their moveset. I think Tinkatink was the best handled. It had a good counter for Glare and it forced Larry to swap to Staraptor. Hattrem had a cool moment when it used Confusion to send the Icicle Spear back to Cetitan and it looked it did some decent damage in the moment but that was it. Kilowattrel got done the dirtiest. It looked like it landed a partial hit of Spark on Houndstone but got two-shot shortly after and then Fuecoco defeated Houndstone very easily. Even Quaxwell and Floragato still struggled and didn't get one win. Kilowattrel wasn't even used in the training or rematch. I'm tired of seeing the starter trio get all of the screentime and development and training. I think that, because of how things have gone in previous battles, I honestly didn’t expect the main cast to win in these battles anyway, which only led to me being confused by why Roy and Liko were failed, but this video helped clear it up. I appreciated getting to understand a bit more about Roy, but I was initially frustrated, thinking that both Rhyme and Grusha were just being written to be unusually harsh to drum up some drama. I honestly think that it’s the first time I’ve felt this way during Horizons.

After this many episodes, I get the feeling that the Horizon writers have trouble trying to balance filler and story, not wanting to progress the story too much but also not dumping unnecessary filler.
From Raifort's debut in the anime (and finally getting an official art) to Grusha's fleshed out backstory, I somehow feel this arc told us more about Paldea and its people than the games itself. Now Spinel's up in the next episode, I want to see what he did with the Eternal Blessings and that much needed Amethio v/s Spinel is coming, the wait's killing me..
My favorite part up till now was when Rayquaza slaps Ceruledge down and just nuked him repeatedly with dragon pulses. I mean he was done when he got slapped down but Rayquaza had to remind him that you dont roll up on him solo like that and not get punished.

Her Confusion-controlled Icicle Spear Sendback attack & Spinning Collision between Ice Spinner & Brutal Swing were pretty good! And I definitely do hope that the opportunity arises for Another Liko vs Grusha to happen again given the next lineup of eps, so I'm on the edge of my seat in hopes that a silver lining of a comeback arises (I'd love it if it turns out that Geeta magically shows up & turns Grusha into an anxious worrywart when he's around her and makes him reconsider what he's done given he's so scared of La Primera) - And all I can say in the end after this episode is that Grusha might have just added another new reason as to why he is one of my least favorite of Paldea Gym Leaders!!
In my personal opinion liko seems to be like the type of trainer who'd perfer playing with her pokemon then having them battle and I think she'd rather get stronger by just bonding and playing then through battling
I’m starting to think Grusha is a little like Paul ya know? His criticism of the mc, believing results are everything even though Paul was more focused on power that contributes to results, though he’s kinder to his Pokémon but not challengers, the fact that he had an overwhelming victory against the mc and his realistic expectations of winning

Technically Ash was going for pro Pokemon Trainer route, in real world, he is going pro at a sport, so training mentality is a must. But Liko isn't so I guess that can be excused. But someone needs to talk to her that what she is going through is very dangerous (Possibly even more dangerous than Ash's own journey) where she will meet strong Pokemon and even EVIL people/organization, and that she needs to train for that.
If Fuecoco didn’t evolve that last ep Idk if he ever will. What more do you need to do to evolve into the 2nd stage. I enjoy we have seen these kids go from not knowing anything about battles to them actually taking it serious

@Zactoshi hello, huge fan! Quick question, will you make a video about your friend zanolith’s pokemon journeys rewrite series and see if it s better than the actual anime? When that series ends.
Honestly, OG Ash is THE perfect example of the lesson Grusha tried to teach Liko in the latest episode, and OG Ash NEEDED that lesson. Ash won several of his badges not even by defeating his opponents but just because he did something that Gym Leaders liked and gave him the badge anyways. (Most notably Misty and Sabrina.) This was also why Ash failed so hard as a trainer in the OG series. He literally was failing upwards and barely finished half of his Gym battles. He got off easy and thus he wasn’t prepared for the League.

Roy and Dot were the ones that convinced her to go play with them and it's also clear that Grusha is the one with the character flaw. With him being overly harsh despite the fact that the implementation test being meant to assess their ability using terastalization, not raw power. Liko fought really well and made use of everything she has learned pretty effectively. It's Grusha the one pretty much unfairly projecting his own frustrations about his past on Liko. And it's not to say that being strong isn't important but Liko definitely wasn't being a pushover in that fight.
It honestly felt more as if Grusha's frustrations over his past got triggered after seeing Liko enjoying the same activity that he used to enjoy and being overly harsh as a result.
AGAIN really? Poor liko least they could hsve done was make her go up against the water gym leader insted of 2 types her team is week against does she not get a rematch like roy did?
Oh and look zac quaxly evolved it only need to evolve one more time to turn into your favorite paldea starter 😄
You do know he despised Quaquaval to the same extent as unfezant
@elji know ye i meant it as a joke ordinio7647
Roy's parents went to find the One Piece
They ain’t coming back
I dont understand why people want the trio to get strong so fast they are still beginners and they need time to grow Ash didn't even earn most of his badges and they were just handed to him when he first started his journey
Fr thank you
@@just_a_rebel8261 thank you!
@@neduegeh5859 i feel like friede himself (the person with two powerhouse pokemon that perform equally) would be the perfect person to call them out on it
So much for learning from their past mistakes
I don't think they will even get a full team of 6 and I don't want to if they treated as bad or worse like the others. Horizons be like "You get a loss and you get a loss, everybody gets a loss".
@@Cheichei11 100% agree
I'm getting so fed up with it. And what they did with Kilowattrel is so insulting it's like they pretend he doesn't exist. Even Ash Pidgeotto had more screentime and was a good battler for the time he had. Just the scene alone when he hugged him to keep Ask warmth makes up for it
@@KgEclispe252 They better redeem their secondary mons soon, whats the point of a team if only one of the members gets full development while the others lag behind despite evolving
Laughed at the child labor bit lol
Hmmm…even if Liko could make an actual good strategy that would somehow Win against Grusha,…there is still the problem of convincing Grusha to let Her try again. Although while He is A Tough Nut to crack, it is NOT impossible to do so🤔
Liko, Roy, and dot are the kinds of Pokemon trainers that only use their starters and have the other Pokemon gain experience through exp share
Lay off my Pladean starter and 6:52 can't believe you didn't react to Larry stretching just like Ash.
Also I found from another Pokémon fan channel that the song that Roy is singing a song called "5,6,7,8" by a British band named Steps.
Still can't wait until the Amethio and Liko episode (also it's nice that this video came out the same day that PM7 reached 1m subs).
It's always good to here ypur reviewes Zac. I've even started picking up a habit of guessing the most likely score you'll give it before you give it based on your reviewes. It's... a 50/50 more or less.
That clip from Toy Story 2 you showef us your recation of Quaxly evolving was honestly priceless comedy gold
I still don’t like the hatred towards Quaxly’s evolved forms.
12:34 this frame made me hallucinate. My brain saw Ash Ketchum.
Liko is slowly becoming like kieran.
Just give her an Incineroar and she’ll do fine. She seems good with cats already
Everybody loves Larry. And I hope lico makes progress towards becoming a better trainer, she has so much potential.
Losing undermines how hard you try? So what? Iris is trash for losing to Cynthia? I don’t think so!
If we listen to Elijordinio it would be like this
14:42-14:55 This is why Im subscribed you, Zactoshi!!!
Man Liko Roy and Dot really need to catch some more Pokémon
Dot is the true protagonist of this series, she’s got the most character growth
SAY IT LOUDER 🗣
WE CONVERTING HIM! QUAXWELL SUPREMCY! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I’m still so mad Grusha failed her. She did better than her friends and they passed!
Floragato being frozen solid was well done
Poor Liko 😥
My favorite part up till now was when Rayquaza slaps Ceruledge down and just nuked him repeatedly with dragon pulses. I mean he was done when he got slapped down but Rayquaza had to remind him that you dont roll up on him solo like that and not get punished.
I want to see Liko shine and grow with full intense battles, i guess it will be a long journey. But i like Roy is more of Ash in the group. I want more training episodes and bonding episodes with their pokemon and capture more please
Both wulfric and grusha had our protagonists thinking about life after their battle 💀
6:31 EAT IT ZACH!!!!
If I had a nickel for every anime made 8th ice type gym leader ice hard battle to a protagonists, I got two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
Also if you had a nickel for every pessimistic ice type leader the protagonist had to face
Tbf it happened twice with dragon aswell
Liko vs Grusha kinda reminds me of the time where Ash challenged Wulfric and lost badly.
Wulfric was at least less cruel to Ash despite that
@@eljordinio7647 I would argue losing to Wulfric is more embarrassing though
@@wiseguy1512 at least there ash did get one KO whereas Liko got none
@@eljordinio7647 still lost to Abomasnow I’m sorry but that thing has SEVEN weaknesses. And you go at it with a water type and use CUT
Not saying this is better or worse just saying… they both did stupid stuff. I mean this was an Ash who was now a pro battler and he did that.
@@wiseguy1512 Greninja beat abomasnow in case you failed to watch properly
Bro I'm just waiting for them to each cath their 3rd pokemon
When it comes to the HZ trio's 1st Caught Pokemon's 1st Official Battles, I'd probably say Hattrem did the best out of Kilowattrel & Tinkatink. Her Confusion-controlled Icicle Spear Sendback attack & Spinning Collision between Ice Spinner & Brutal Swing were pretty good! And I definitely do hope that the opportunity arises for Another Liko vs Grusha to happen again given the next lineup of eps, so I'm on the edge of my seat in hopes that a silver lining of a comeback arises (I'd love it if it turns out that Geeta magically shows up & turns Grusha into an anxious worrywart when he's around her and makes him reconsider what he's done given he's so scared of La Primera)
- And all I can say in the end after this episode is that Grusha might have just added another new reason as to why he is one of my least favorite of Paldea Gym Leaders!!
Well, he's still hot, so he's got that going for him, I guess 🤷🏽♀
In my personal opinion liko seems to be like the type of trainer who'd perfer playing with her pokemon then having them battle and I think she'd rather get stronger by just bonding and playing then through battling
I’m starting to think Grusha is a little like Paul ya know? His criticism of the mc, believing results are everything even though Paul was more focused on power that contributes to results, though he’s kinder to his Pokémon but not challengers, the fact that he had an overwhelming victory against the mc and his realistic expectations of winning
"This part of the course is gonna see how you use Terastalisation in 2v2 battles...so same as the 1v1 battles but with fodder"
Let's just hope they'll keep training hard enough because i'm sick and tired of seeing them taking some Ls and drops the Ws. I'd rather to see them get their comebacks than failed their test. Seriously Grusha, no need to be so harsh to yourself. SO IS the writers
9:45 I’m excited yet worried for the English dub when they get to this point and have Ryme do her rap, especially how Journeys back then had Ash and Goh do their own rap battle with the Slowkings (the cringe level from Sarah Natochenny and Zeno Robinson was immense)
Also looking forward to the next group podcast
I'm gonna be honest when i say I'm only catching up to the series because if your youtube channel thx man love your vids 😂❤
came for the Horizons reviews, stayed for the Zac drip
😂🔥
Makes me think of Seth Rollins
This is way better than pokemon Journeys. Change my mind.
I think no one's gonna challenge you on that. Horizon is way better than Journeys
I mean every other series is better than Journeys if you ask me, even BW.
@@Ha0507 no it's not. Horizons has all the sane problems but has worse plotting, a boring storytelling and characters so bland that it puts you to sleep
@@OrganicNith all smart people would but they have given up on Pokemon by now.
@@Taydar if you don’t like the series, then why are you even here? plus why do you people want Liko Roy Dot to get stronger that when we have lots of season with them to learn and grow
Honestly, I was really hoping you would put the MoistCritikal wooooo sound effect somewhere hidden when he appeared
Roy rematched Ryme without any healing inbetween.
They must've ate tonnes of Oran and Sitrus Berries in between.
Are there any games which have Terapagos in it?
Making interesting fights is not the issue honestly, but I wish they caught more pokemon, I’m not asking for a full team, but I want more diverse match ups, like if Liko had a 3rd pokemon, there could be more interesting dynamics with Hattrem and said 3rd pokemon
I have a question? If all the battlefields are outside then what’s the point of the big gym building? What’s its purpose?
Maybe in case of weather… like if there's a windstorm going on your not gonna want to stand outside ontop of a mountain
Love this video keep it up 😊😊😊🎉🎉
Hope we can see Ash mentoring Liko in her journey soon or sometime in the future. Really hoping for an aged Ash Ketchum.
Can we get the Fuecoco evolution already?? It literally ties into the singing part with Skeledirge
We'll probably need a big moment since they already did "starter evolves in a gym battle" within these episodes. Though I'm gonna get peeved if it's another Grookey situation again.
So you prefer Cian and Coral as beginning of black and white team rocket, and not every other time team rocket?
How about this for a video, ranking the game Rivals. One for their teams (this includes the different teams depending on your starter as their own spot rather than combining them all together) and the characters themselves. Which Rival had the best team, and the best character.
Since I suggested it, I am putting my two cents for who should be where on the character list.
And it is gone.
실망하는 표정도 귀여운 리코짱💙💙💙
One shots always catch me off guard but I think of it like Legends Arceus where a Piplup could one shot an alpha Electrode 😂😭
6:31 No
im not gonna lie where the fuck is the pokemon center in hz it showed up once in the third episode and then the episode where they fight moltres and we’ve never seen it since😭
Even when Ash wasn't the best trainer he still valued training his Pokemon. Liko needs to adapt that mentality
It took Ash Like 270+ episodes to finally train his pokémon, cause i don't remember him doing any sort of Training in the OG Series xd
@@stampoulisrafael5262 He trained his cydanquil pretty well in that one episode
Indigo league would disagree, he failed here because he did not do this.
That is not just being unfair to them.
@@basilofgoodwishes4138 From Orange Island to Journeys, Ash was training his team.
Buzz light-year 6:32 👨🏻🚀
when will you post the next batch when the third arcs complete
Injust thought of something. Liko dot and roy could be representing the players that only use the starter for the entire game while the rest of the "team" is like lvl 10
was wondering when this was coming back
I had heat exhaustion a few days ago, so I could never commit to the winterwear bit like you. A mild case, but still. I hate the heat.
I'm glad to see that passing the test isn't easy, since the first four were all, "Battle, pass."
@Zactoshi hello, huge fan! Quick question, will you make a video about your friend zanolith’s pokemon journeys rewrite series and see if it s better than the actual anime? When that series ends.

Where can you watch the Japanese version of Pokemon horizon
Hopefully we get to see Team Rocket’s Pokemon in 10 words or less
Good point.
Oh yeah quaxly evolve into quaxwell
What did you think of Dot’s Snow Outfit?
Honestly, OG Ash is THE perfect example of the lesson Grusha tried to teach Liko in the latest episode, and OG Ash NEEDED that lesson. Ash won several of his badges not even by defeating his opponents but just because he did something that Gym Leaders liked and gave him the badge anyways. (Most notably Misty and Sabrina.)
This was also why Ash failed so hard as a trainer in the OG series. He literally was failing upwards and barely finished half of his Gym battles. He got off easy and thus he wasn’t prepared for the League.
Daisy is the one who gave Ash that badge and Misty questioned her and didn't like the idea.
@@NRaache Yes Misty did argue the idea, yet the badge was still given to Ash without finishing a proper official Gym battle.
