- Recently the Wolfbox G840S Digital Rearview Dashcam Mirror and unfortunately there was some issue with the seem that were affecting my ability to use the system.
In today's video I will be showing the you the issue I encountered and will be showing you how I am going to be solving those issue to make the system more usable.

Did you screw or use adhesive for the WDR camera in the rear?
You think for a vehicle with a big tired on the back blocking your view from the start would come with it but nope, I wish I was motivated enough to install it in my future Jeep, keep it up

Great vid! I have a 21 Rubi and thought about mounting it to the 3rd brake light but was worried about it eventually coming off (double sided tape). How did you mount it on the inside?
Double sided tape that came with it.
Out of curiosity, is your rear window tinted? Mine came that way and I am worried that everything will just look dark due to the tint. I have also seen people mount the rear camera basically on the original camera and passing the wire through the spare tire. Seems like that would be super problematic for taking off that spare tire.
Btw, I found the hothead headliner for the Sky One Touch to be a game changer when it comes to temperature control and noise.
Yes mine is tinted and it doesn't seem to affect the image that much.
Yeah the hothead headliner is on my list to add to the jeep. Glad to hear it actually works aswell.
I wonder if there is a way to hide all those info widgets on the mirror when in cam mode, to see just the image.

Would these help with glare and night driving? I cant use my mirrors at night bc the glare hurts my eyes so much :(
Yeah these both worked great for solving that.
Hello! Have you tried it when it's very sunny and the camera is pointing at spot that is partially shaded? I would expect the WDR/HDR to balance out that sort of image? ( a huge issue for the camera in my car!)
That's a unique situation for sure, can't say I have tried that.

No I can remove it, this doesn't affect it at all.
Nice video, but I think you need to take a closer look at the part when you add the screen protector and do some editing to it.
I have a similar set up but having issues with the driver side sun visor. Do you have this issue as well? Where did you get the mount?

I got it on off AliExpress, link is in my install video for the mirror. BUT it's definitely not the right now as I had to customize it to work.

I found that the night handling by the camera is horrible. I use it as a rearview mirror through the rear camera, and at night, low lighted areas just appear BLACK and the glare from headlights is absolutely blinding. I'm coming from an AutoVox X2 which had vastly superior low light handling. I'm returning this Wolfbox unit as a result.
Damn that sucks. I haven't noticed that issue with mind.
Getting the upgraded camera fixes that.

The WDR type. I just bought mine today cuz my g840s camera sucks with low light too
Does the reverse cam stay on to be used as a digital rear view while driving or does the screen shut off after like a min or so?
It's a digital mirror. So the cameras are one all the time unless you turn it off.
It stays on , unless you mess with settings . Also, there Should be a Botton on the bottom of the screen . Press it to turn off screen . Even if it’s “off” camera stays recording . You can use the screen as a normal rear view mirror .
does it have auto dimming when you use it as regular mirror for high beam?
and does it have a battery?
No it's just a reflective surface
No it has no battery, it has a power cord that must be managed.
Does the camera upgrade come with any type of brackets for inside car install? Or just 3m tape

@@evolvedjeepin you talk about the WDR camera upgrade has like a double bracket setup. I was wondering if that double bracket came with the camera or you had to purchase that separately.
@@user-rh5vm6vl5t Yes the WDR Camara came with the double bracket, where the original camera was a single bracket.

I dont see night video, only daily....how we see if glare still on or disapeared? I have the new G900 model and for me is perfect
He has a few seconds of comparing the two cameras at night at 2:12 but just while he's sitting in his ex girlfriends apartment complex stalking her.
But at 9:50 he says "as you can see here" as if he's showing a camera comparison but all he's doing is sitting in the woods where he hid the body.
I would like to see the footage of the police lights behind him while in motion as he's running from them to really get a side by side view.
Mary, when you buy the G900, does it come with the upgraded camera? Or do you have to buy that separately?
How does the system compare with the G900?
I believe the G900 is a better unit, but this one was a more affordable price.
a question is it not annoying that ever time you start the car the wolfbox logo comes on?
Honestly I don't believe it does it everytime, and if it does I definitely don't notice it so it definitely isn't annoying.
@evolvedjeepin another question: Why is the inside camera 4k and the back camera not , when it should be the back camera 4k, as you can clearly see in front of the car ?
@@jesuslives4803 I am not sure, honestly that is my biggest issue with that unit and I am actually still looking for a better unit to replace it with. Check out my other videos I am doing a mini series on these systems to find the best one
Manufacturer should Upgrade all the Wiring Inputs and have them shielded in a flexible cover so all the wiring is hidden. And YES manufacturer should have already included the Mirror covering so the glare is no longer a issue. Just my opinion. I hate Wiring being exposed, this could be a easy fix, but it's on the manufacturer. (Opinion).
Definitely agree with those comments.
Think i'd just take it to Jeep and get them hard wire it into the original reverse camera. That's too much and Black screws would have looked better, counter sunk and shims hidden, without bits of felt stinking out. I applaud your effort though.
Yeah those screws were temporary and Wolfbox actually has their own mount now so you can just use the screws that come with it.
Is anyone system crushing?
I don't have any issues with mine.
The same thing here, it restarts constantly, then I press the bottom button and it turns on again, it always does it that way, did you manage to solve it?
Yes it does sometimes, when happens try formatting the card and copy the latest firmware into the SD card using PC/Mac which would re-install the latest firmware could solve the problem most of the times.
Rear camera seems to look the same quality
Yeah it is pretty much the same the only difference is that the new one had reduced headlight glare at night.
Is there a big difference in the glare at night? I can’t see Jack at night from the read
