Hello, can you explain what you mean by this?, if you meant linking firebase to your app it should be as easy and following the instructions on the firebase website, make sure you know how to use pods/cocoapods

Hello, there should be plenty around in the channel, theres the match app, the war app, journal app, and some small ones like soundboard, walkthrough, etc. some are very old though (outdated) but its still a good point of reference :)

NSException error I had was fixed by editing the name of my google plist file.
I had downloaded it in the past so the file name defaulted to like googlePlist (2) or something like that and the end number was messing it up.
Hello, yes thats right, i had the same problem because my it usually renames it in the download folder, just make sure to have the correct name always and you should be fine :)

In my Appdelegate.swift (in .xcworkspace) when i try to import firebase, it will autocomplete and tell me firebase is a module, but then once i hit return it tells me "No such module 'Firebase'", how can i fix this?
FirebaseAnalytics resolves fine, so it's actually just Firebase module, not everything of Firebase
edit: nvm just cmd+B fixed it like you said

i got all the way to the end but the run app to verify installation green box never appeared and i lost the screen so never got to hit continue to console... does this matter in the grand scheme of things and if so how do i correct the issue?
Hello, you should be able to see it again in your database dashboard. its on the project overview and just click on the app name at the horizontal list that you see

Hey Chris! I am trying to build a renting app which has two different types of users, i.e a tenant, and owner. Now, How can i differentiate them? Because both of them will signup with email, name and password. Please help me out.
Hello, you should add a usertype in your registration so you can differentiate between them, then maybe make a different viewcontroller for each type

Hello! CoreData is Apple’s local database. It’s a little difficult to get started with it when you are new to iOS, this is why we also teach Realm. It’s a 3rd party but dead simple to use. You want to use Firebase/Firestone because you want your data to live on a server. (CoreData never leaves the app). With Firebase you can feed the same data to a website or an Android app. It’s a good start if your app is small and don’t want to hire someone or learn to code all the server side of things.
Adrien Villez Ya what you said is absolutely right but I have one doubt, I used firestore to store the user data. Suppose in future my app have tons of user assume 1 million users is it good to that much of data in firestore. How much data firebase can handle. And if I want to change dB to MySQL in future can I get all user data from firestore is it possible ??

In my app, users add some guitar chords, song names, etc.
Users can fill the attributes of the song in one viewcontroller and I send them to my database (firebase).
I can then display songs name in my customviewcell when the app is open. When users select the row, they should only be seeing the chords of the corresponding song in UITextView.
How can I implement this?

Hey I just tried this method out I was able to successfully import firebase into my project but my 3rd party API (e.g Moltin)’s data became undeclared unresolved it doesn’t conform to protocol should I choose one or the other or are there ways to use both or if I use one do I not need the other ? I was getting successful builds before importing firebase with lags and crashes if I click any button but now the build flat out fails lol any help is much appreciated thanks !! Great content !
Hello, if you want to stick to an eCommerce database with an easily accessible interface to edit and track your data than you should just go with just moltin. The problem is that it already lags and crash so it think its not yet optimized for ios connection. you should try to look for alternatives if thats the case.
In case you still want to use Firebase its pretty handy as it usually has everything that you need because along with the database it comes with a cloud storage (firestore) for photos and videos if you need them. it also has built-in persistence( which simply means data can still be accessed even when offline as long as you already loaded it )

CodeWithChris wow thanks so much this was great insight yes I’ve made progress with Moltin but it does seem very buggy I’ll try starting s new project with firebase and Firestore I found a code to load the products and product lists but now my collection view cells aren’t showing I can transition between view controllers but none of my collection views for that matter are showing? What could be common errors, maybe constraints I used the iPhone 8 demo reference so maybe that can be effecting it ? Thanks a lot for all the help and insights so far !! Great channel and team !

Captain Marvel Flutter does not use Swift and this is the language we teach. Once SwiftUI is more mature we will cover it more deeply and it will work like Flutter. Flutter is already covered by a channel that Google produces.

Thanks for the tutorial, but when I ran the app I get an error "Thread 1: signal SIGABRT" What does this mean?
"Hello, this usually happens when you have a mismatch or the connection of the UI and the swift file does not match.. like for example if you deleted or renamed an IBOutlet or IBAction in your codes, it will not automatiically change it for the storyboard so it tries to look for the ""old"" one which does not exist and causes an error,
to fix it just go to your storyboard, check the outlets and connections and try to delete and reconnect.

On official Firebase Website when you are trying to install Fireba SDK (7:45) after new update they asking us to write instead of "pod 'Firebase/Core' " they ask as to write " pod 'Firebase/Analytics' " what's the difference

Its not? its probably inside the database then as you still need to add an app/sdk to your firebase project to utilize it. they might have just removed the need to set up the sdk immediately

In Minute 11:39 We see in the screen: Open your Podfile and add: $ pod 'Firebase/core' But in August 23 2019, in the web of firebase.google (step4) I see: # add pods for desired Firebase products

you might also need to set-up pods again for the demo to work properly

@@CodeWithChris Inside Podfile there is a link where they explain that is not necessary Firebase/Core as Firebase/Analytics already has Core. On the other side I think we have to incorporate Database. (without that it does not work for me)
At the end I wrote in the Podfile

# add pods for any other desired Firebase products
pod 'Firebase/Database'

thers is a problem with xcode 12, I just did this: sudo gem install cocoapods --pre ,and now it works . I found it in github
