    even though i think saying "bypassed" and showing it in black and white when both times the reverb is engaged could be pretty confusing to people just starting out/at an intermediate level, i think this tutorial is really helpful. keep it up devvon

    This is an absolute gold mine, I’d like to also add, now that y’all know the fundamentals, its fun to “break the rules” to find whatever works with the vibe of the songs you’re working on. Knowing the technical part will help with the creative part. But first just create the vibe. You can add 2-3 reverbs on one audio signal if the song needs it😂😂

    Perfect follow up to this is showing people how to duck the reverb with sidechain and or putting people on to reverb plugins that have built in ducking like Klevgrand's Kleverb or RUM, or Baby Audio's crystalline which is a stupid-crazy-good reverb btw. for the non lazy folk, they can automate mix + decay for certain moments. This song is fire btw too G 🔥

    there's something I'm confused about devvon, when setting the pre-delay to the 32nd note shouldn't you also set the delay time to the same equivalent? can you mix and match the tempo time setting like that i.e 1/16 pre-delay and 1 bar delay? and if so when when you do that as opposed to making them equal like let's say 1/8 pre-delay and 1/8 delay time

    Im sure for reverb plugins that DONT have the Tempo feature, you could manually make that pre-delay on calculator.
    60,000 % (BPM) % (2's, 4's or 6's) . Depending on your bpm you'll land on the (1/4th, 1/8th, 1/16th ,1/32) in Decimals or Numbers.
    If you really good & Used to it you'll know what those delays sound like when you hit your Decimal.
    ~P.S: To undo the Division just multiply by even numbers, so (x2's, x4's, x6's) to go back up in Numbers/Decimal. Vice Versa Divide by even numbers the same way to go down in Numbers/Decimals.
    (Some plugins might round out the decimals you type in or turned the knob to hit that specific number, But that's perfectly fine too).

    Devvon, I have watches countless videos of yours on sitting vocals in a beat (mostly 2tracks). Most your content talks about your vocals cutting through the mix but I seem to have the exact opposite problem. Vocals feel like they are just on top of the beat; like they’re just separate. Can you make a
    Video to deal with that specific issue?

  • @jjohnwords2873
    @jjohnwords2873 ปีที่แล้ว

    So basically
    Decay = Release
    Pre delay = Attack.
    Have you ever tried sidechaining your vox to the reverb ? I see people doing it with gates so it opens and closes when there's gaps in your vox to fill with the reverb . Haven't tried it myself

    If you converted 1/32 to milliseconds, what would it be?

    • @nilespeshay1734
      @nilespeshay1734 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm reading his tempo as 177bpm (i.e. he's working in "double time" of the true bpm - 88bpm). 177bpm / 60secs = 2.95 beats/notes per second. 2.95bps/32 = 0.0921875. So...roughly 92 milliseconds *for this particular song/session*...?
